Don't you get a cheaper train ticket if you book in advance and as the date gets nearer you have to pay the full fare ?
How does that equate to people who have paid months in advance paying more and those who leave it till nearer the date getting a cheap deal ?
I agree with the idea of making sure the ground is full, and have always believed that offering deals to bring people in shouldn;t be seen as 'unfair' but if you take it too far then I think STH would have a case for a moan.
Sellin STH a cheap ticket is one option but you would struggle to get a seat next to you to put a friend in. Maybe do a South Stand only deal of adult plus child for £25 (or whatever slightly more than a standard adult ticket is) - effectively kid for a quid every game.
