Hoop Blah It's still been what 5 years and he's not gotten to the stage where they've seriously been challenging for the title in the last month of the season.

That's the standards they set at Liverpool and he's not delivering.

He's by no means been a failure, delivering the European success that he has ensures that he's going to be remembered in a good light, but ulitmately they need to be winning the league.

Thats how I see it anyway.

Agreed. The CL has totally glossed over poor domestic performance. He needed to win the PL this year to survive in my opinion. And he really is the architect of this season's probable failure. Question marks over the Hicks and Gillett's ownership and Parry's role will probably see him having another chance next season.

I think that is, essentially, wrong.

What will do for him is a failure to make the very late stages of the CL

There's simply more money involved

Couldn't be much wronger than first time around I guess so here we go again.

Liverpool to go all defensive and get through with a bore draw
Utd to find the net this time around and qualify
Arsenal to scrape through, De Rossi missing is a big blow to Roma

Chelsea - head says they should get through, for some reason I just have a funny feeling they will come a cropper in Turin.

That Vucinic penalty was the worst penalty I have ever seen in my life

Agreed. A nice John Inman skip as he approached the ball, and a pee-roller against Almunia's legs after the keeper had himself slipped.

I watched the games tonight in one of Nürnberg's two English pubs. There was a guy sitting in front of me for the whole evening and comments did not pass his virgin lips. As 'Tonetto' (?) stepped up to take his penalty, the guy suddenly screamed (in German), 'a by-product of the dolphin-fishing industry - HE'LL MISS' ... and he did.

Germans can be very funny at times.
