Why? Its about supporting your club not watching them at the cheapest price possible.

That would be bacuase the club would have sold us a pup to get early renewals for the eventual same price as those who renew later on. The issue being some renewing early could feel the need to renew early to make a saving. Slight bit of tactical pressure (possibly). :|

Id like to think the club think about their supporters first, but it is all about money in this day and age.

More business, less sport.

This may have come up already in another thread but remember at one time it was possible to pay for my ST in instalments? Is that no longer the case ?

I have to find £ 575 for my ST and my sons......not sure I can afford that it one hit. Ironically, last year I could, despite having been made redundant ,because I had just received a big payout! :)

There must still be an installment method? They cant expect everyone to just find that large sum of money in one go.

Dirk Gently If we don't go up and the price announced is the same as the "early-bird" price then I think an awful lot of people will be justifiably pissed off!

You could understand people being upset about not going up, but not about the prices staying the same.

It's a gamble on us going up - you win if we do. if we don't then you don't lose anything, and you can chose not to gamble at all.

I'm surprised at you taking that line Dirk. Would it have been any fairer not to offer the deal and just give us a guaranteed increase if we go up and freeze if we don't ? Who wins then ?

Obviously not, but it would take an incredibly stupid person to decide to charge people £100 for renewing early and £90 for waiting a bit.

Clearly the 'gamble' comment would still apply but I would agree whole heartedly with Dirk's view if those who renewed early found they were paying more for Championship football. An own goal that a Wolves centre back would be proud of....

You do lose something - you lose a couple of months of flexibility in deciding when/how to pay. It's hard to put a monetary value on that, but for some people it's been a struggle organising funds to pay in such a short "early-bird" window - especially for those who have multiple STs to buy.

And while it's not specifically stated, it's still pretty much implied that there'll be some advantage to them in renewing early - if it turns out not to be then people can be legitimately upset.

BTW I don't for a fraction of a second think that if we don't go up then regular ST renewals would be less than the early-bird price - that'd just be outrageous.

I just strikes me that the gap between the cost in the two divisions is a lot lower than last time round. I would not completely rule out the possibility of Championship season tickets being lower than the price avaialble now and justified by saying people were gambling on getting Premiership tickets cheaply and this is the downside of that gamble.

It's a bit much though to damn the offer on the basis of an unquantifiable, slightly nebulous possible hassle for some people....

Who's damning it?

Just expressing concern that it it doesn't turn out to be that good an offer in the fullness of time then predicting that people will be feeling short-changed by the club, with some justification.

Which puts me in the very uncomfortable situation of hoping that prices go up once the early-bird offer is over - and that's something that I'm having trouble reconciling.....

I'd take issue with the comment that it's a" slight hassle for some people" to find the money required to renew all their currently held STs too.

Why ?

You can either do it or you can't....

I can't.

I'll probably just about manage to do one.

But if others can do more then good luck to them.

As I've said, what other options would people suggest that would be workable and universally acceptable ?

Some people struggle to get the money together to pay for a ST full stop but I haven't seen any suggestions that somehow ST are a bad thing.
