The JPT Come-on Luton Thread

by AthleticoSpizz » 17 Feb 2009 23:23

Why?

1. They probably won't be allowed to defend it next season (in a Reading Simod Cup Stylee)

2. The 30 point handicap implaced on the squad and management, that was earnt by the previous administration that who has long since gone.

3. Kevin Watson is still there

4. Jealous of them getting to Wembley Mk2 before we do

5. Eric Morecambe

After the season they have had you would not begrudge them a day at Wembley. Bit sad they ran to gloat the Brighton fans at the end.

3-2 winners today in ET against the much fancied Scunny

Whilst it will be playing the likes of Barrow and Salisbury next season, nobody could deny them this.

And, possibly, Oxford.

I assume they played each other in the First Division in the 1980s. Would this be the first time a former First Division fixture has been reprised in the non-league?

Any truth in the rumour that their ground isn't up to Conference standard?

However, and I don't want to sound too parochial here, they kept going on about how this was the biggest support at Wembley ever, I'm sure we took more than 40k once, Luton might remember it.

Kudos to a tiny version of Mick Ronson sitting in the royal box though

Decent game too, or the bits I watched were. Shame that those 40K seem to have better things to do most Saturday afternoons than go to watch Luton or the might not be in as much trouble as they are (much like Brighton). Did LOL when towards the end of the match they zoomed in on a middle aged woman celebrating wildly, proudly wearing her Man United shirt.
