Seal Most enjoyable aspect of the Q/F so far was Messi's first half display for Barca.

Surely the best player in the world by a country mile at the moment? Not only he is one of the most skillful and technically gifted players I have ever had the pleasure of watching, but he delivers end product. Goals and assists.

Barca fans are very very lucky to get to watch that every week.

Saw him in Edinburgh pre-season versus Hibs and have to say when he got into top gear it was just an unbelievable sight. His low centre of gravity meant he was gliding past people with ease and he scored a cracking goal that day too.

The other thing that impressed me that day was just how good Gudjohnsen was playing as an attacking midfielder.

handbags_harris This pains me to say it, but Chelsea were excellent last night. And that is my Chelsea praise quota expired for the next ten years.

Never thought i'd hear him say that

oh and LOLz @ Reina - the cheating kant! Catching the ball in that 50/50 challenge and looks absolutely fine, then he realises it's JT so pretends he's hurts so JT misses the 2nd leg @ The Bridge.

readingbedding Liverpool fail again, another false dawn.

Care to define "failure"?

I thought Chelsea responded really well last night and as underdogs thoroughly deserved the victory.
Drogba and Essien are very important players for them and if they had been fit all season we might have see them as Champions again and it shows with Chelsea and Man Utd having successful seasons again that spending really big money can buy success.
It will be interesting to see how quickly Man City buy similar success in the next few seasons.

Back to last night who knows what the outcome would have been with Bosingwa playing ahead of Ivanovic?
Ruud said that Hiddink is known in Holland as lucky Gus so maybe Bosingwa being injured was proof of that luck.
Good luck to Chelsea-they'll certainly need it against Barcelona and it's starting to look like an Arsenal Barcelona final as long as the Arsenal players stay fit.

As for Liverpool they may well still win the league or come second and that would represent improvement.

He was hardly lucky Gus last night though. Drogba should have had at least 4 goals.

What does that mean?
Do you think that losing one match is a failure?
So Man Utd are by the same logic falures for losing to Liverpool and Fulham and only drawing at home to Porto.
Numbskull.

7 minutes in and the cheat that is drogba is back to his best. He goes down with an injury whilst off the pitch then decides to roll on to the pitch and therefore the game has to be halted. More to the point shock horror he seems to be oj 2 minutes later

What a goal! What awful goalkeeping!

Aurelio set up to take a free-kick 30 yards out, off the right corner of the area. Everyone shaping up for the cross, including Cech, and Aurelio whips the ball inside the near post with the keeper stranded!

71 minutes to find 2 goals....
