TheMaraudingDog
handbags_harris LOL @ Tyldesley after about 89 minutes: "Chelsea handed out free flags to all their fans this evening". Camera pans to Liverpool fans: "They don't need anything, they create their own atmosphere".

As they zoomed in on 7 Liverpool fans stood there with their gobs closed. Sometimes, regardless of what the atmosphere is actually like the pre written script always comes out.

LOL - exactly. He actually said "Liverpool don't need flags, they bring their own" as the camera panned into a dozen blokes stood in complete silence, one of whom had a scarf on.

Very entertaining game but the defending was shocking and obviously i'm glad to see the Scousers dumped out of Europe to spare us the painful "we did it for the 96" bollocks that would have followed.

Can't believe we caught the 'Reading FC fans syndrome' last night by booing the team off then cheering them back on for the 2nd half.

One of the best games i have seen in a long time. In my view Liverpool deserved to win.

Their four goals should have counted more than Chelsea's four?

Glad the Scousers are out, for some reason Chelsea's fans are far less irritating. I blame Phil Thompson.

1960 Thank God Chelsea won. If the scousers had won we'd be hearing European comeback kings, blah blah, wonderful supporters blah blah Hillsborough spirit blah blah, special European nights, blah blah, Rafa tactical genius blah blah for the rest of the year. With Chelsea winning the game is now over and we won't hear any of that crap.

a +1 and a thank the lord

How did you work this out? Chelsea went to Anfield and won and should have won by more. Last night was a draw and a pretty fair result IMO.

Gotta be slightly worried by your abysmal goalkeeper though for future rounds and any possible tilt at the title?

agreed on Phil Thompson, but I'll raise you an Ashley Cole, a Ballack, a Drogba, a Lampard (etc). I was definitely supporting the Scousers.

Why are there so many utter retards on this board.

Seriously. He's a Basque. They like the letter x.
