starbug What a pathetic thread - Kebe has been our most effective winger all season. End of.

Grow up.

James Henry did more in the five minutes Coppell gave him than Kebe has ever done in a Reading shirt.

LOL LOL LOL.

LOL @ Kebe getting all the critscism. He put a couple of good balls into the box, and if we had a striker who actually stayed in the box we would have scored. Whereas SH(it)unt did absolutely feck all.

Yeah, um, the pretty much open goal that he put into row z? The 50/50's he pulled out of all game, the misses passes...? He was shit!

He was our only attacking threat. What that says about our team is another issue, but at least he got involved and hit the byline a couple of times. Shunt was truly LOL worthy today. Particularly when he had a free run at their very average RB, stumbled over the ball, and then ran straight into him.

It must also be noted that Kebe had 2-3 players surrounding him everytime he had he ball (yet he still gets crucified if he doesn't beat them all) - They obviously done their homework and realised they could spare an extra man by not marking S Hunt at all.

rg6royal Had one great run with teh ball today in the second half. Must have taken on about 3 players! just lacks the final ball tbh.

That was almost an out of seat moment. There is no doubt he has the skill to deal with and turn players, i think his footballing brain and orientation need to get up to speed.

'greed if he has that then he has the potential to be a very good player.

Jimmy Kebe is to football what Bernard Manning was to race relations.

I find this incredibly hard to believe that this whole thread has stretched to 40 plus pages. I am yet to read justification that Kebe actually IS a good footballer, let alone a footballer to start with. At best he looks like Thierry Henry with Downs Syndrome. At worst he is like me and I can assure you that I am NOT a professional footballer and never will be.

Nothing wrong with the final ball on this occasion. What was wrong was the lack of other players busting a gut to get into the box.

To be fair to the bloke, if his ability was equal to his pace he'd be playing for one of the top european clubs. There was a reason he was on loan to a French second division side and signed cheaply by a desparate Premier league outfit. You can't blame him for not being good enough. Blame the bloke who signed him and played him week in week out in his wrong position.

True - Kebe looked about our only outlet and that says how sh*t we were. SHunt was shocking (as he has been all season bar 2 months in autumn when he was OK ) However the 2 best crosses were put in by Kitson.

I've seen worse players mind - Meaker anyone?

Just ignore the fact the angle of that shot was virtually impossible won't you? After all a lack of facts makes Kebe bashing more fun doesn't it?

He shouldn't have shot, but to say it was an open goal just isn't right

I find it very odd that people still don't see he's a threat, even though he does has his moments of spaziness.

Spot on Statto.

Clearly the non footballing experts have an odd view of what an 'open' goal is !!

Kebe's mistake was in shooting at a tiny angle with a keeper and a defender in the way when he should have laid the ball back to the edge of the 6 yard box for a tap in - not that there was anyone there to take the pass !

Oh for gods sake not another scapegoat thread.

I actually thought Kebe was one of the better players yesterday, he couldn't be faulted for commitment and the overall performance of the team was better than some of the shocking cr*p we've had in recent weeks.

My problem with yesterday was the the way the TEAM played really deep, the way that when Barnsley had a set piece around the box we brought everybody back into defend leaving no-one up (even Barnsley left players up when we had set pieces) and the way Kitson seemed to not be a striker but be trying to do a bit of everything and generally when crosses came in there was no-one in the box.

And as for the ridiculous comments about being the worst player ever well some people are either less than 10 or have short memories...

You seem to be judging Kebe on the fact that he missed the goal when he had the chance, but at least he tried. Sometimes yesterday it was as though they all wanted to be he one to create the assist passing to each other, but no one wanted to be the one to actually shoot. And several times Kebe managed to get the ball up the wing beating a few defenders along the way.

Sorry, but I'd prefer John Oster to Jimmy Kebe any time.

At least John knew when to play the simple ball.
