Burnley v Sheff Utd

by 1960 » 20 Apr 2009 12:34

I would love it, just love it, if Sheffield win this. If they lose, Brum will be up with just one more win and our game with them will be meaningless (unless we are still trying to sneak into the playoffs). Anyway, if Sheff win they will be on Brum's coat-tails and Brum may need to win at our place - and wouldn't it be nice to scupper them with a Reading-special home 0-0 draw.

You've obviously looked at the title and not read the text.

So you are hoping that some non vintage Claret together with a sharp Blade in the back will combine to give our last day opponents the Blues.

But if Burnley win this, it's still in our hands as to where we finish, as we'll then have a game in hand on them before tomorrow? Not that we'll win every game... Just saying...

WHY CARE???

This season is toss. If we make the play-offs, we'll fuk em up. If we won them, we will be embaressed next season. Possible contender for a record low of points.

Burnley would rape us in the play-offs. They look hungry. What do we look like? Tired, bored, heartless, soulless spasticated over paid egotistical kuntchops.

Roll on the summer.

... said it at the time, but he would have improved our squad a lot in the two Premiership seasons and he would not have cost all that much.

I thought a lot about this (sad but true)

a bad result for us. Nevertheless................. if Brum and Sheff U win on Saturday we are guaranteed a place in the playoffs even if we lose all our remaining matches

(barring spectacular 7-0 type defeats).

so, basically that result more or less promotes Birmingham and makes the last day game against them largely irrelevant.

I could write reams following this sentence, make a detailed assessment of the squad and its mentality, look at the infinitesimal hints as to the psychological state of Coppell and the squad.

Instead, I feel I am best served by:

IF Birmingham lose and Sheff U only manage a draw at the weekend, IF Cardiff draw or lose tonight and IF we win tonight and Monday, the final game will see us promoted on goal difference with a win.Or something like that :o

Good question.

I care because I'm a Reading fan.
