Basic bus question

by soggy biscuit » 16 Apr 2009 09:49

Never used the buses myself as I drive and walk but I have a few people coming in on the train and want to get the bus down to the stadium of noise.

How many buses go from outside the station? how frequently? how long does it take to get there?

If there’s a few of you, it’s more economical to get a taxi at 2:40pm and blag a free bus ride post-match.

It's £6 for the train journey from North Camp, and £3.50 for the bus to the ground. Something not quite right about that.

And amazing the same journey is cheaper if going to watch rugby.

On an aside, I watched the rugby at the Stadium last Thursday and was charged 10p less for my Guinness that at the same bar the following afternoon.

Loads of buses, there will be a queue of them waiting. They fill a bus up and its off, so the first few buses maybe every 10 minutes around 2pm maybe every 5 miutes. It'll take about 10 to 15 minutes depending on the traffic

Something that has wound me up for ages, especially as there are LESS people using both facilities

Agreed.

Lottery tickets, betting slips and old bus tickets from 2002 also seem to work.

That's complete and total bollocks - can't believe the Rugby fans get the journey cheaper, very unfair.

Well, its a fact. Sure the bus company have their reasons.

Maybe the rugby club offer a subsidy or they feel there's less risk of damage on rugby days.
