bobby m's syrup but I was just as convinced that it would all be over by 7.15, as were, (I am sure), the vast majority of nobbers

Once Saints had held Burnley, I thought Preston would get a result today and had enough about them to win the game - wasn't too sure once Brum scored but it all came good in the end.

I'm always right about everything, and we're going up, up, up and away.
Hooray for that!

londinium Royal Lady I think you will find that most people nailed their colours to the mast at the beggining of the season. Some rightly or wrongly, and fair play to those who put their hands up when they were wrong.

Personally I stated we would definately be in the play offs, more than likely top two and thought we would actually win it. So I am part wrong and part right. The most important thing is actually what the club does and not what people tink they might do.

I would much rather predict doom and gloom and we go up than be up beat and we end up midtable mediocrity.

Lets all just stop this bickering like 4 year olds and defending the old man or other half like little school kids and hope that Reading FC do what needs to be done and Colin does us a favour.
Fine by me, but I think you'll find you laughed at RwC's dig at him - when, in fact, he predicted midtable mediocrity and a bit of doom and gloom - which you've just said you would rather predict and be wrong rather than convince yourself that we'll go up and we don't.

Arch There's a world of difference between sticking your neck out to make a prediction (e.g. I think Brum will be promoted) and sneering at other people for contemplating the possibilities that might take us up. "Give it up - it's all over. Why do you people do it to yourself?" is the height of overbearing arrogance and you should expect to get ridiculed when your smugness gets wafted back into your face by events.
I suppose I have the benefit of knowing Floyd. He's an old grump 99% of the time.

I'm a fan of floyd from afar, but that comment in particular deserves all the LOLs it gets.

Royal Lady RwC - loves to gloat at other people when something they've said doesn't come through. What, exactly, have you stuck your neck out and predicted this season?

If it's any help, I can confirm that RwC PM'd me to predict that you'd use rollyeyes in that post.

What I don't get is the dismissive "you're all wrong and I'm right, we'll oxf*rd it up and be shit" attitude.

Fine be pessimistic and defeatist, it's you're right as a fan, especially a long serving one. But to try and come out and say you're opinion is cast iron what's going to happen and that other more positive fans are idiots. Well that deserves all the ridicule going. Especially when it proves premature.

bobby m's syrup Floyd's football knowledge and reasonableness make him the one of, if not the most, consistent and accurate of commentators on these boards. Personally, on this occasion, I am happy to see him proved wrong, but I was just as convinced that it would all be over by 7.15, as were, (I am sure), the vast majority of nobbers

This * 1000 percent. Floyd may post like an old curmudgeon, but inside he is still that 10-year old RTG perched on his father's shoulders at Elm Park.
Floyd has forgotten more about football than I (and some others on this portal) have ever known. Take the piss out of someone else, he doesn't deserve.

I don't know the chap, but having read his posts that's exactly the impression that I got of him - his posts use the self defence mechanism that all of us long sufferers need

Floyd certainly comes across as a loyal Reading fan who spends more of his time and money supporting the club than most of us.
Couldn't care less if he was wrong about Brum yesterday. Like all of us bar Royalee he will be chuffed if we go up a week today.
