Percentage chances of each outcome from soccer-stats.com, assuming a Reading win on Monday
cmonurz Reading go up if - Reading win, and Sheff Utd fail to win 21.8%
Birmingham go up if - Birmingham win, or Birmingham draw, and Sheff Utd fail to win 54.7%
Sheff Utd go up if - Sheff Utd win, and Birmingham fail to win. 23.5%

Finally wrote it down right

Vintage Warnock, the first game to be abandoned by lack of players from a starting eleven...

Warnock threw it...

Surely they should add up to 100%?

The fact that it is even possible after all we have been through is fantastic...no more if onlys about all the points we have tossed away....lets just try and do it now...please beat Norwich and set up a truly fantastic last day....and if that doe not work out maybe it is about time a play off campaign worked out for us....just imagine the high if we actually achieve this ..one way or another....

and a great way for SC to say farewell.

readingbedding Warnock's a pro.
Aside from that disaster against West Brom? (Patrick Suffo???) years ago, I don't think he can be called into disrepute into throwing a game.

If you're capable of doing something like that once, you're capable of doing it again.

What did Warnock do against West Brom years ago?

By the way, throw the probability of us beating Norwich into the mix and our chances of automatic promotion come out about 7%.

Chaney Can you imagine Warnock telling his players to go and throw a game?..dont think that will go down too well on the dressing room..or the board room for that matter

I think we can be rest assured that the fans will be screaming for Palace to win and send Sir Steve back to the Prem. If he stays. And we win.

If we beat Norwich and draw/lose to Birmingham or, even worse, beat Birmingham but SU win, then this could "knock us for six" come the play-offs. It would be a hammer blow that could be difficult to deal with.

Warnock doesn't want someone else getting the credit for taking his team up, especially not Kevin Blackwell.

You really think Palace give a shit about sending SC back to the prem?

Excellent point. I was forgetting that. I'm convinced now.

Palace fans love Coppell.
Why wouldn't they?
They never had it so good.

Readingfanman So if we win on Monday and beat Birmingham, we are relying on Colin oxf*rd to provide us with a draw at home to Sheffield, can anyone really see them doing it? It is perfectly possible I guess with hopefully the physcological element of the day getting to the Blades, but that is not the point in this thread.

If we won on Monday night at Norwich, but Sheffield then went on to get promoted, would you be more down knowing that we had the hope on the last day and having it knocked out of you? Or would drawing at Norwich and then beating Birmingham, still seeing Sheffield getting promoted be more frustrating?

I personally think seeing us "lose" promotion on the final day would be a lot more down heartening to the players and the fans, even if it is not in our hands. Beating Birmingham would be a massive result in the scheme of things, but would it not be more morale inducing to see Sheffield then get promoted maybe by a lucky equaliser after we thought we were going up. Would it not be almost in a way "better" if we drew on Monday and went into the last game knowing we were playing for the Playoffs?

Us losing auto on the last day of the season is no worse than getting relegated on the last day by another teams result. Like last year.

If we lose it we still have hope.

And Warnock and Coppell send each other flirtatious text messages to each other.
1000 games clique and all that.
It's a no-brainer...

I have just chatted to a couple. They still love Steve and both said that sending him back up is the best scenario. Well one did. The other said they keep us down, Steve leaves us and goes back to them

I'm amazed at the number of people getting so excited on here this evening, thinking that we still have a chance of automatic promotion.

Anybody that thinks that Neil Warnock won't ensure that Sheffield United get the win that they need should seek medical help. The idea of Colin sending out a team to beat his beloved Blades is pure fantasy. Remember that we are talking about a man who's grasp of the concept of sportsmanship extends to him sending on a substitute on with the specific instructions to elbow an opposition player in the face before the game is even re-started. A man who thinks nothing of telling hs players to get sent off on purpose so that a game will be abandoned.

If Sheffield United were going to drop points it had to be today. I'm going to make the best of a bad situation by betting every penny I can scrape together on a Blades win.
