Firstly, we can all live in hope.. just like Fulham fans did with 2 games to go last season!!!
Secondly if they have the best squad in the league this should be used to its potential and they should be top. They are not top, therefore they are under-achieving, something they could do again today.
Yes, in all likely hood they will win and be promoted today, if not then on Monday or next Sunday but while there is still a glimmer of hope let me enjoy my afternoon.

rhroyal I certainly don't expect Brum to lose. However Preston spanked Cardiff 6-0 last season and will be confident. They've beaten Wolves at Molinuex, they've taken 4 points off us this season and I believe have already beaten Birmingham. Then there's the pressure on Brum playing at home to clinch promotion and all. They probably know that this week is their best chance and that next week we could well beat them. I agree that if Burnley win Preston could be particularly flat.
The truth is Brum are an experienced squad and, despite everything I list above, I expect to see them pull through today. Or be out of our reach at least. However, Floyd, there is nothing wrong with being optimistic. I'll watch the game in hope and you never know what can happen. If I'm being honest, there's not many teams other than Preston I'd want to see them playing at St. Andrews in the circumstances. Wolves maybe, possibly Sheff Utd. Not Burnley or Cardiff. Maybe Swansea if they hit form but you never know with them. It doesn't look great for us, but at least they don't have some useless mid table team like Palace, Coventry, Derby, Ipswich or many others, not to mention already relegated Charlton.

rhroyal Saints still have plenty to play for. If they stay up without the points deduction then the points are deducted this season. They'll be relegated and start with 0 points. If they go down anyway the points will be deducted next season and they'll start with -10. That's why they may beat Burnley us, hence giving Preston something to play for.

Chaney some people are forgetting that even if Brum lose Sheff Utd could win their remaining two games at home to Swansea and away to Neil Warnocks palace
