Harry Carry 'BRING IT ON'

STAR Campaigns Just to clarify and set expectations before too much misinformation spreads, yes the football club is organising "clapper banners" for the Birmingham match, and STAR is assisting with the distribution of these before the game.
These are similar to the ones used at recent England matches at Wembley. Essentially, they are like this :- but with appropriate printing, before some smart-arse leaps in!
Everyone is aware that these sort of things are a "Marmite" issue. Some people love them, while others - including some STAR Board members, it must be said - hate them. They may or may not work in increasing the noise levels and drowning out the Birmingham fans (who will have a similar sort of thing), but it's something different which will hopefully change and lift the atmosphere at the MadStad - so if you don't like these please just leave yours under your seat, and let those who do like these sort of things enjoy them.
I think everyone is aware that some people don't like these and that they're not in the spirit of "traditional" football and the terrace culture of the old days. But even if that's your view, at least recognise that the football club is putting their hand in their pocket - a sizable sum, too - to do their best to lift the atmosphere in what is not a "traditional" football stadium with a traditional terrace culture.

I'm sorry but when we tried to raise that atmosphere at a game we got treated like criminals. Now these are handing out free 'clappers' what a joke.

kevan Its easy to carp at others' efforts.

kevan Its really not worth expecting support for inititives like this on here. Many people will like them, may hardened HobNobbers wont.
My thanks to anyone who puts the effort in to support te club in any way and especially the unpaid time that the STAR people put in.
If you dont like it why not get involved yourself and come up with and implement some ideas of your own. Its easy to carp at others' efforts.

AF1 I'd wager the first input STAR had on the whole thing was when they got a call asking for people to hand them out
TheMaraudingDogHarry Carry 'BRING IT ON'
An idea nicked from Chelsea. 20,000 free plastic flags for a Champions league semi final before a tannoy announcer asking Chelsea fans to sing.![]()
A banner asking for fans to take inflatables to a CL q/f.
Poor form Harry.

The 17 Bus Sadly it is a joke, only when the ideas come from the fans does it really work, i suggest everyone does as h carry says, get balloons, go to fun and frolics and buy 100 each, hand them out, and have a mega balloon day. And lets see a fecking ticker tape welcome as well, wheres Riseley when you need him??
Surely these clappers are a risk, folk might poke themselves in the eye with them.

boy1985 tbf even though this is whole thing is embarrassing, they are only handing the things out.
