TheMaraudingDog LOL @ Reading fans who after a massive dip in form where automatic promotion should be licked are now pointing the finger at 'Colin' before a ball has even been kicked on Sunday.

'greed. Just like last season we can only blame our own team for not getting the results needed in the run in when it really mattered.

Look, we have ourselves to blame that we're relying on another team to do ourselves a favour. However now we have got ourselves into this position, it's natural to ask these sorts of questions. Likewise 2 years ago Warnock got into a position where he was relying on other teams. It was his fault but he still had a problem with other sides selecting weaker teams. Following on from that, he now has a responsibility to do his best to win the final game.

That Friday Feeling This is hardly how to motivate players ahead of the final game

Cost-cutting sees 10 up for axe at Crystal Palace

Neil Warnock will wield the axe at Crystal Palace next Monday with up to 10 senior players set for the chop, writes Andrew Fifield.

Shekfi Kuqi, James Scowcroft. Danny Butterfield, Johannes Ertl, Paul Ifill and John Oster are all likely to be told they can leave Selhurst Park as Palace cut costs.

Warnock, who saw Palace beaten 2-0 at Doncaster, said: "I will talk to the players the day after Sunday's Sheffield United game - there will be more news then."

I really can't see Palace turning up, Warnock factor or not. Their season is over.

Which is precisely why it says what it does. The simpletons amongst the Blades contingent may read this the way TFF has. It is nothing but mind games. You really think that Colin would do anything but try and win? What I would really like is that IF Sunday goes our way then the next time we cross paths with Colin we actually show him a little bit of respect. Hang on, we are Reading. We don't do things like that do we?

To be honest, I agree as well, much the same as 2 years ago when Warnock whinged about other teams fielding weakened sides, conveniently forgetting that The Blades were something like 10 points clear of relegation with 10 games to play and oxf*rd it up big time. We are where we are now because we've been shit since Christmas.

I think Sheffield Utd will win on the basis that they are a much better side than Palace. Any Warnock factor will be irrelevant

Colin Warnock - an apology

by Man Friday » 04 May 2009 16:09

Seems like I might have misjudged you. Anyway, thanks for trying. Sorry we wasted your efforts but from your perpsective things have probably turned out for the best - or they will have done if SU go up (which they probably will by beating Burnley in the final...our own beloved Royals deciding to put us out of our misery early on instead of teasing us by being 2-0 ahead in the final with only 5 minutes to go and then blowing it in typical Reading style).

Anyway, I digress. As I was saying, thankyou Mr W.

I don't get many opportunities to say I told you so, so I'm taking this one.

Told you he wouldn't throw the game.

Yep, thank you Palace for your efforts. Sadly, our own team completely choked as we did in 2004 under Coppell on the final day and in 2005 under Coppell on the final day. Last time we got the result we needed for a positive outcome on the final day was in 2002.....thanks to a team managed by Steve Coppell choking.
