Coaches to Wembley

by The 17 Bus » 04 May 2009 06:56

if by a miracle RFC make the final who will be arranging the coaches, I assume STAR can only arrange for members??

Surely the club wont have time as they will be busy selling 40000tickets, so who will do travel?

IIRC for Cardiff Horseman had the club contract and did the bookings themselves. Would imagine the same will apply.

wemberly park is on the jubilee/metrapolitan lines heading north from baker street

train to paddington, cirlce/district line to baker street

boozers? The usual ones around paddington

Alternatively drive to uxbridge and get the southbount metropolitan line train to wembley. no idea the boozers in uxbridge

Paddington to Marylebone - 2 stops - then 2 stops to Wembley - super little place at Marylebone - more details should we get to Wembley.

Train from Wycombe on the Chiltern line is the best option.

On our previous trips to Wembley, The Globe (opposite Baker St Tube) has been taken over by Royals' fans.

For the prawn sandwich brigade, I would suggest driving the old Bentley to Denham - very close to the M40/M25 junction, very quick Chiltern Line service (not much more than 10 minutes) into Wembley Stadium station and some very classy pubs in Denham Village itself!!

Biggest bonus of all, open invite to Cilla's for a celebration BBQ afterwards!

Don't think much of her neighbour's place though!

The pub of which I speak at Marylebone is already gearing up to be the official Reading supporters pub should we get to the play offs. I just don't want to tempt fate at the moment.

My usual route but won't those trains be full of Northerners?

Nope - the majority will come from Sheffield into Kings Cross, or from Preston into Euston.

*Sheffield into London St. Pancras International.
(Or Kings Cross following a change at Doncaster or Retford)

I used the Chiltern Line to get to last year's CCC play-off final, and although it was about 50% Hull and 50% Brizzle City the trains were by no means full - ditto the car parks at the station.

Cheers all - I've no experience of trains north.

Wycombe it will be then - should we get past the Clarets of course. This thread is a bit previous!

I'd imagine a 5 minute walk in any direction from Baker Street would find a better pub than that one !!

Used to go there before England games and it was full of drunken yobs singing songs.

No, decent food and really hard to find anywhere to sit.
