I'm sure fergie is already disappointed about the lack of respect shown to Brucie

Exactly,I don't understand why he doesn't just enjoy the current success while it lasts.
All those years and all that money spent and they have only now just caught up with Liverpool domestically.
As for Europe their success ratio is a mere 60% of Liverpool's so still a long way to go until they can even be talked of in the same breath as England's most successful club but at least they have been Champions of Europe just once more than Nottingham Forest-that must surely make their fans feel good..

There was a banner over hanging the Kop in 94 that read "COME BACK WHEN YOU'VE WON 18"

Well guess what, WE'RE BACK 8)

Good stuff. It would have been nice to think that United fans would be pleased that, having reached 18 titles, Liverpool have finally turned themselves into potential champions again, and we could look forward to a genuine rivalry for a few years between the best two teams in English history.

But United fans are too busy cacking their pants for that.

Trouble is even if Liverpool manage to improve, Manchester United will be improving as well.

A consistantly fit Torres and Gerrard might mean that Liverpool end up half a dozen points behind again next season.

In the same period that Utd moved from 7 & 1 to 18 & 3 (pos 4) Liverpool have gone from 18-4 to 18-5

When Liverpool where dominating they spent more on transfers than any other club - shocker

That's a measure of United's success, as oppose to Liverpool's failures. That any team is within 6 points of a team that kept 14 consecutive clean sheets is a miracle in itself, United stepped it up another level this season.

It goes both ways. Liverpool won 8 league titles and 4 European Cups while United were shit.

Liverpool will have to reel something about Hillsbrough again to get a few column inches if they go ANOTHER season without a trophy.

Still there is always next season

ya poor liverpool, scoring the most goals for the second consecutive season...doing the double over man u and ch£atski while every other team lies down to them and comfortable in second place, a poor season by their standards, just goes to show how great a club they are

Don't think you can call a team who hasn't won the league since the back pass rule came into a effect a big club, that's 20 years  .
