Going down to the wire on the last day, seeing as Sunderland lost 3-1 tonight, despite being 1-0 up.

Bottom 5:

16 Sunderland 37 -19 36
17 Hull 37 -24 35
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
18 Newcastle 37 -18 34
19 Middlesbrough 37 -28 32
20 West Brom 37 -31 31 Relegated

So, if both Newcastle and Hull win, and Sunderland lose or draw, Sunderland are down along with Boro.
If Boro win by 2 and Hull lose by 3 or more, along with Newcastle losing, Boro will stay up, with Newcastle and Hull going down.
Sunderland only need to win to stay up.
Newcastle win/draw and Hull draw/lose (respectively) Newcastle will stay up and Hull will go down.

Oh and a shout out to Linvoy Primus, first appearence in 2 years at Pompey, legend down there.

No change for next weekend. Can't see Boro or Newcastle getting shit.

Next season's fizzy pop looks interesting!

I can see the Geordies and Hull going down which would be great as Newcastle's a cracking away day/s even if I did get thrown out after 20 mins, and Hull is a ground that I need to tick off the list.

TheMaraudingDog United's team to play Hull

Foster
Rafael-Evans-Chester-Fabio
Nani-Gibson-Fletcher-Tosic
Manucho-Welbeck

Half a chance for Hull there.

Love the story in The Sun today whereby Newcastle/Sunderland/Boro have agreed that they will sue Man Utd if they put a weakend side out against Hull.

That team has got more chance of beating Hull anyway than the first team as those young lads have everything to prove and will be Hungry. With a European Cup 3 days after Hull if the first team played could you see them chasing lost causes, putting all their energy into the game and flying into 50/50's? They would treat it like a training session.

I hate all this "weakend side" bollocks that teams go on about.....

firstly, its called having a squad so how can you say its weakend - surely thats disrespecting the players
secondly, its because YOU didn't win enough points throughout the other 37 games that have got you into this position NOT because Man Utd didn't beat Hull.

Personally I'd love to see Newcastle and Hull go down, just because Newcastle are the non-biggest biggest club going and Phil Brown is just a o*ford. Although not a fan of 'Boro I would like Southgate to keep them up, mainly because I have enjoyed watching his car crash managerial career from his first game against us.

I do have a sneaky feeling Newcastle will stay up though.

I dont think Villa will make it easy for them....they want 5th place, it could mean an exta £1m (???) in prize money.

Sunderland, Newcastle and Middlesbrough are apparently considering legal action against Man U if they field a weakened team at Hull (wonder if they'll be consistent and do that if Man U win!)

With Newcastle at Villa and Hull at home to ManU I can't quite see there being the two miracles required to drop them down even if they do as expected and crash at home to Chelsea.

I can see Newcastle getting a point at Villa so it's really down to ManU's performance at Hull.

Personally, although it'd be really funny, I don't particularly want Newcastle in the Championship throwing what little money they have about the place and players queuing up to play for them just because of their name, it's going to bad enough with JM sanctioning naff all dosh and having a new manager spending a season on rebuilding.

Isn't Manucho on loan at Hull?

Can see Fergie half wanting to lose to fcuk Newcastle, still they will put out a stronger side than mentioned, even though frankly the team mentioned should beat Hull, they've got Kilbane at centre half and Fagan up front ffs....

Utterly ridiculas. Manchester United are entitled to field what ever team they so wish. Since when is it a legal requirement to play your best players every game when fit? The North East taking a hammering this season, what a great end to the season!
I've heard there is a lot of unrest at Hull City too. Phil Brown has upset a lot of folk in his dressing room, and one or two people upstairs have been calling for change since the turn of the year, but the Chairman has maintained his full backing of Brown. Players alienated, rifts between manager and director(s). Someone got too big for his boots and the results are all too clear!

And made up, the clubs have already laughed it off.
