Really? There has been quite a bit of speculation that Real are trying to get him too!

Scolari #2

Honestly don't think it's a good move by Chelsea, he can't speak a word of English, just can't see him doing well. Should hae broken the bank to keep Hiddink.

Thing is, being Real Madrid manager is just not stable enough - how many managers have they had in the past 10 years (anyone know?) - he will be suited to Chelsea as he's the kind of manager/coach that just wants to concentrate on coaching his team and leaves transfers etc to a "man upstairs" similar to how Coppell/Hammond worked here!!

Alan Partridge he can't speak a word of English

Neither could Cappello when he took the England job but is doing a good job! - Scolari is an international manager whereas Ancelotti is a very good club manager, thats the difference.

and Chelsea are?

Mourinho
Grant
Scolari
Hiddink
Ancelotti

In only a few years.

I do agree that the manager at Madrid is on a hiding to nothing, Del Bosque was sacked for only winning the league the other year. Hiddink >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ancelotti for me.

Yet Ancelotti in 8 years only won the Italian league once. I do think he's a good manager, good record at Milan especially in europe which is what Chelsea are probably looking at, I just have a gut feeling he won't be there this time next year.

I agree BUT Hiddink is a man of his word and would never have let Russia down not for any money - i'm sure Chelsea tried everything they could to keep him but you cant force someone to do something that dont want to.

Anyway as Chelsea = Abramovic = Russian FA I think it is unlikely that the decision was anything to do with Chelsea or Hiddink...

You cant really include Hiddink in this, as he only came in to help out till the end of the season and would have stayed had he not been manager of Russia.

Just goes to show what a gr8 team they are then with all that unrest. 3rd in the league, Semi-final of the CL, FA Cup winners.

Finishing 3rd in the league is not, in my opinion, a good achievment for Chelsea.

It is when the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham spent far more money. Both didn't win a trophy this season......
