A CheLOLsea fan citing money spent as a mitigating factor.

As for Ancelotti, he has a great record at club level, but who knows how he will cope in the Premier League?

My choice would have been Moyes, but he's not fashionable enough for Stamford Bridge.

But a bad season for Liverpool none the less. Another season without a trophy.

Harry Carry Still a good achievement though.

Finishing 3rd in the league is not, in my opinion, a good achievment for Chelsea.

It is when the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham spent far more money. Both didn't win a trophy this season......

Whether Chelsea have had a successful league campaign is based on where they finish in comparison to Spurs & Liverpool?????

I am going on the assumption of all Reading fans. If you spend more money, you win more things. Which obviously isn't the case as Liverpool and Tottenham won nowt.

Would be nice to see a Chelsea thread without any jealous comments, but then that would mean we're unsuccessful. 8)

LOL, the classic comeback off a paranoid fan of a sugar daddy owned football club

What the hell is there to be jealous of where Chelsea are concerned? I'd much rather get relative success the way Reading go about doing it than splashing cash over a short period of time getting already established (and sometimes past it) players in on stupid transfer fees and ridiculous wages. I very much prefer watching a team that has built itself up year on year rather than enjoyed almost instant success on the back of a sugar daddy. Jealous of Chelsea? Absolutely no way. I despise them too much to be jealous of them.

So it's only the spending on the previous season that counts even if you have many costly first team players bought prior to that season?

Surely a better way to know relative success against Liverpool & Spurs based on money spent you could just work out the cost of your most played XI this season against their most played XI?

Reading have never won a major trophy.

You'd better ask another Reading fan as they always change the goalposts with these sorts of things.

Which is a true comment, but goes against the grain of my argument, and is therefore irrelevant. I am not jealous of Chelsea's success whatsoever. Much like many other fans around the country, this is due to the way in which they have achieved their trophy-winning since Abramovich 2004.

With our success its not a glass house, more a hut with some mud outside.

£8m profit, £7.5m profit from Defoe, £5.5m profit from Muntari, £15m profit from Diarra, £3m profit from Mendes

So in the past year they have made £31m profit which could soon be £39m - just from player sales

Probably doesn't even cover the difference between the gate receipts and the wage bill; and now they've sold all their best players surely they're only headed one way..?

I wonder if Portsmouth fans would swap that FA Cup win for the long-term stability of a club like Fulham (or Reading!)

Alan Partridge Scolari #2

Honestly don't think it's a good move by Chelsea, he can't speak a word of English, just can't see him doing well. Should hae broken the bank to keep Hiddink.

He sounded fluent enough on the radio this morning - was even able to say that his English needed improving and he would be taking extra lessons all summer.
