Liverpool v Chelsea

by handbags_harris » 08 Jun 2009 13:18

Bearing in mind that Liverpool have won 5 European Cups, 3 UEFA Cups, 3 European Super Cups, 18 League titles, 7 FA Cups, 7 League Cups, and 10 outright Charity/Community Shields, who do you think is the bigger club?

Chelsea. The Zenith Data Systems Cup pisses on all of the above.

It's obvious that Liverpool is the bigger club.

Liverpool can't say that they ever employed Kevin Wilson or Mal Donaghy.

Therefore, Chelsea >>> Liverpool.

No, but they've had Peggy Arhexad and Peter Crouch.

History seems to be something that clubs who realise they have nothing to celebrate, hark back to. The team that won the medals and trophies in the 80s isn't the one on the pitch today, all that is there is a trophy in a cabinet. Football is everchanging, it does not stay in one place like a stone, it is like the wind. Chelsea is the bigger club and will continue to be as it seems.

Ah, but Liverpool have won the European Cup recently. Have Chelsea won the European Cup yet?

LOLz at Chelsea never winning a European Cup after all the money Abramovich has put into the club! He'll be bored soon and leave and Chelsea will revert back to a mediocre Premiership club with the odd flutter of FA Cup glory.

But in that time, look at the difference in terms of number of trophies won m8. And in the time Liverpool won that one European Cup in 2005, Chelsea got two league titles under their belt.

Who were Chelsea before nob head and all his money arrived? Remind me who they were about 20 years ago while your at it.
And bollocks to Tottenham!

Chelsea can only dream of the success Liverpool have had and continue to have in recent times.

Liverpool have a rich history, a vast wealth of trophies that Roman just can't buy! What do Chelsea have? A rich owner and vast wealth. (until he gets bored and leaves)

You can't buy history, and you aren't even buying the present.

Chelsea were a London-based Aston Villa before Abramovich turned up.

If they had any class or self-awareness, they'd realise that they have the innate gaucheness of the nouveau riche. Sadly, the club seems to be run by and for mongs so they don't.

If Reading are ever successful, I hope our fans keep their feet on the ground. Sadly, the Team board does not enthuse me.
