I think there's two RFC links in there.

Mark Robins never played for us, did he?? :|

The second player is actually Chris Casper (sitting next to Caskey and holding the trophy...)

By the way, didn't we actually win a tournament after that, the one in France in 1997???

I thought he did but he's a few years older. Scored in the United cup run of 1990/91?

That's Scholes as an U-18 bottom left. Butt's in there somewhere and Beckham wasn't in the squad.

Oh yeah, and Sol Campbell sporting a cracking flat-top in the back row.

Well, I did say a tournament, not an UEFA tournament.

He did, I wouldn't have mentioned him otherwise.

Happy to accept that he isn't in the picture though !

Yes he did, a 5 game loan spell in August/September 1997, and played against:

Bradford City (0-3)
QPR (1-2)
West Bromwich Albion (0-1)
Oxford United (2-1)
Tranmere Rovers (0-6)

His record at Reading therefore reads P5 W1 D0 L4 F3 A13 Pts 3.

He didn't score for us, and it has to be said that I wasn't overly impressed with him when he was with us, although how much that was to do with him as a player or the team he played in, I don't know.

I remember him being some bright young star coming to us from Newcastle maybe? And him being utter shit. As in made Brayson look good.

But that could just be very very poor and confused memory

Hazy memories serve to say that we had him on loan from Norwich.

Admittedly we were in the run that would see us relegated but he was woeful apart from a 10 minute spell at the beginning of the Bradford game. He never looked like scoring.

Ah, yes, I remember now, Terry Bullivant brought him in, he was shit and I never liked him. Then he went off to Rotherham.

I think there's two RFC links in there.

Can we name all the players inthere?

Kevin Gallen back left, is that Stuart Nethercott maybe next to him? Chris Day is one of the keepers, not sure who the other is, Sol Campbell, Rob Jones? Nicky Butt
Julian Joachim I think, Paul scholes, Noel Whelan (what happened to him?!) ? Casper, Caskey, Fowler, ?? G Neville

Rob Jones would be too old - he'd had England caps by that point.

It is Joachim, Scholes, Whelan bottom left, Fowler, someone, G. Neville bottom right; Caskey and Casper holding the trophy.

Jamie Forrester is in there.

I do have the Guardian article somewhere but that would be cheating.

I think it's Gallen then Kevin Sharp of Leeds. Not sure on the keepers. Sol Campbell , don't know possibly Rob Bowman of Leeds, Nicky Butt
Bottom: Joachim, Scholes, Noel Whelan, Jamie Forrester (both Leeds), Casper, Caskey, Fowler, Mark Tinkler (Leeds), Gary Neville

I was a big old Leeds fan at the time and watched the tournament hence the Leeds knowledge above ^^^^^
