I Just hope the club do the right thing;

It sounds like wont support Murty's cause on the night, not realising that most of the gate and proceeds will go to charity, coupled with the work he and The Reading wives have done over the last few years.....not to mention one of the greatest captains of all time

I welcome back any old players that WANT to come back and support Murts, fair play to the ones that have already been on the phone,

Come on Reading, do your bit!!!!

Why would Long be in the old one? Think about it

Well, because he didnt feature as much as Doyle or Lita, despite scoring a few goals...

(pressed submit to early) yeah he's basing it on who's available at the time, because i expect Hahnemann and Doyle to have pre-season matches with Wolves and Lita with his new club, (possibly wolves again )

I went up and bought 5 tickets yesterday I was told that the club have sold less than 2000 tickets so far ... Looks like the reading faithful are coming out in force again

We've got tickets, but I'm dreading it TBH. A paltry crowd, only the more codger-like and out of contract old boys able to make it, the first team probably with more important things on their minds. And it's at 8pm on a Monday evening. Recipe for a squib that's damper than a Take That fan's knickers.

I'm going, but only because we're in hospitality. I think I might be too embarassed to ask Murts a question afterwards

I am going to go - buying 7 tickets as it is a good chance to take some of my kids' friends... Murts deserves a decent crowd....

OK, judging by today's free rag 'GetReading' just through the door they reckon Sidwell and Shorey will be allowed to play and Lita as well, and Phil Parkinson too, so if the Reading press can be believed, I most humbly retract my recent pessimism about this fine event.

Cheers for the invite then.

This was always going to bomb because of three things :

Chelsea friendly
The standard of the opposition
The ugliness of Murty's wife

You're not wrong bigmike.I bought a couple of tickets today and matey behind the counter said they'd sold shy of 2,000.Parky had a fair send off in his testimonial match, so why not Murts?

What was that bull on the official site about tickets selling like hot cakes?

Still I'd rather spend my money watching some of the past and present RFC crew,as opposed to the Chelski brigade.

Murts deserves a good send off but im disappointed with the way its going to go.

Lowe crowd, no real opposition and a silly day to have it on.

Could have been really great , instead not really sure i'll go.
