RG30 World Soccer is an exceptionally good read. 442 went downhill when Brian Clough died, his column was always good value.

Agreed World Soccer is a good read
Its always a good read and takes a good while to get through

442 is fine if you like nothing more than generally top level football interest

WSC is better if you want more widespread coverage with a bit of humour

For all those people who preferred football when it was proper, there's a magazine called Backpass which is quarterly and is dedicated to football up to and including the 1980s.

All are available in WH SMith

Just for the record I always liked a magazine called Total Football but that went under a few years back

Depends if you'd prefer to stick to reading about the domestic game

World Soccer has some of the worlds best football hacks giving a monthly round up of every league around the world
In depth for the major leagues and countries and sound bites for the smaller countries
Always good to see the up and coming teams and players
I travel alot with my job and World Soccer is a good read to while away a few flying hrs

Another big-up to World Soccer. It's so much enjoyable to read about something you don't really know about than the usual Premiership b*ll*cks. A recent spread on Peruvian football was superb.

Does World Soccer show any interest in the lesser leagues or is really only top level leagues from each country? Would Championship/L1/L2 clubs get any mention for example?

For supporters of a certain age " Backpass" magazine is a good read.

Football from the 60's to the 80's.

Good stuff.

I do recently discovered Backpass only today (before I had a chance to read it on this thread) but it definetely seems like the right type of read for those who went to games in the 70's and 80's, and this month's edition includes an article written on Steve Death by Evening Post Sports editor David Wright.

I'd certainly recommend WSC LoyalRoyalFan. I've only read it for five years or so now, so maybe I missed its best years, but definitely worth a look if you want a interesting look at football at all levels.

Because of the worldwide coverage they don't cover lower leagues because it'd be impossible to publish as it would be massive
They do mention whos leading the Championship and promotion/relegations
