bigshaka'away' So Lita has gone to boro, one of our main promotion rivals.. I must say this really is a kick in the teeth.. Here we have a player we deemed we no longer needed - a player capable of scoring premiership hatricks and a goal ratio of better than 1 in three - going to a club in direct competition with us. He could easily fire the goals that edge them past us... He clearly wanted to stay at Reading, we didnt want him. Shocking. There is a reason why all the big clubs in the division wanted him - He is a proven quality player...Fine he made not have been first choice at us, he may have sat on the bench, the board of directors may have thought why are we paying him 15,000 pounds a month to not start every week - but in saving a small amount of cash by refusing to pay him the wages he wanted to stay, how much is this going to cost us when we miss out on promotion to boro? Far more. Its short sighted. As ever.

LOL.

He's been awful for us for over two seasons. He was also terrible for the first half of our Premiership debut season, and a spell of about 7 games in the middle of 05-06 after Kitson's injury.

Edit: that isn't quite fair on Leroy, he also had three spells where he scored consistently for us- two in 2005-06, one the next season. However, other than that he was pretty much useless for us, because when he wasn't scoring he contributed nothing. Much like SHunt.

He will not get the goals that propel 'boro above us. It's more likely that a) Alexsandr Orslov will invade China and b) Simon Cox will do the same for West Brom.

MOVE ON.

Lita's attitude was a big problem and he had CHANCES to prove himself which he didn't take. You were right when you said what must the board be thinking to have player on £x amount a week, has a terrible attitude, doesn't play every week and when he does, plays badly.

I'm sure our 'short sighted' board members wouldn't want to be as blind as you are either.

THIS

over and over and over

The only thing he ever did on a regular basis was shoot his magic beans up an assortion of muffs in the RG1 postcode.

He scored a few (very, very)memorable goals, but lost it.
Anyway, it's not really a gamble for Boro, aside from the wage, they're getting him relatively cheaply.
Sometimes, all it takes is a new club and it all comes back.
Never knew him, good luck to him.

I predict you will all be eating your words when he scores 20 goals and takes them to promotion..........If he doesnt, well, i hope he doesnt, i will retract fully. But keep an eye on the scoring charts and you will see i was right.

Unless the club manages to pull the cheque book out of JM's backside and its finger out of its own posterior in order to sign a proven and effective goalscorer to produce the goals we require at this level PDQ, rest assured that people will be bemoaning Lita's departure (and success for Boro) before too long.

Give him decent service and he will score goals. With the team BR is building, I believe he would have got that service this season and would have repaid it with plenty of goals.

I cannot believe that we are contemplating playing our first game proper on Saturday with one of the weakest, both in proven ability and strength of depth, set of strikers we have seen at this club for very many seasons.

The difference between Forster and Lita is that Forster was at the end of his career whilst Lita is only 24/25.

I predict he'll be behind Simon Cox in the top scorer stakes.

Aren't most goalhangers like that anyway? Jamie Cureton was the same, IIRC.

I won't because I know he can do it but I also know he's unlikely to do it here, now.

If Lita showed more commitment to the club maybe he would still be here.

Good luck to him but unless he decides to change his attitude i cant see him scoring more on the field than off it

As for his interview - The man has a large ego, that much is no surprise - and he is hardly going to go on sky and say that he wanted to stay but we didnt want him. What player says that? If we had offered him a good contract with good wages he would have stayed...You must take what he says after his departure in context. Nobody likes to admit they were reject.

Is it just me, but that interview smacks of a lazy fecker, who wants the money but does not realise it needs to be worked for???

i bet he is out injured for most of the season, and fails to make 20 games, scoring less than 8 goals.
