Match of the Millenium dvd?

by Jackson Corner » 04 Aug 2009 15:08

Is this the long awaited dvd? Luton at home first round of the Carling cup? No Boro first prem game!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Reading-FC-Match- ... 286.c0.m14

The parallel between Reading’s move to a new home at the turn of the millennium and the successful change in fortunes on the pitch is clear for all to see. From the very first game against Luton to incredible Premier League matches Royals fans have witnessed some truly great action.

Recounting some of the greatest home performances from a decade of action, fans will revel in the glory of this action packed programme as Reading triumph time and time again. From 6 goal thrashings to 7 goal thrillers; from Championship winning performances to Premier League goal frenzies; you’ll see the Royals overturn Liverpool…West Ham United…QPR and many more.

Reading 3-0 Luton 22-08-1998

Reading 4-3 Oxford 28-10-2000

Reading 5-1 Preston 15-04-2003

Reading 3-2 C Palace 13-09-2005

Reading 5-1 Brighton 10-12-2005

Reading 5-0 Derby 01-04-2006

Reading 6-0 West Ham 01-01-2007

The West Ham and Liverpool games are memorable, but match of the millenium? The Boro game wipes out all of those above, every one of them, for me. The game, the occasion, the fightback from what looked like a certain defeat at 2-0 down.

Would have been hard to leave out the Liverpool or West Ham games. But Boro should definitely have been on there.

I can think of many more I'd put above the Luton game in the Carling Cup.

The two 3-3's against AFC Bournemouth in 98/99 and 00/01.
Reading 3-1 Ipswich Town 02/03.
Reading 3-2 Preston North End 03/04.
Reading 2-0 West Ham United 03/04.
Reading 3-1 West Ham United 04/05.
Almost every game in the 05/06 season with the exception of Plymouth Argyle, Crewe Alexandra. and Watford.
Middlesbrough as discussed.
Reading 1-1 Manchester United.
Reading 2-3 Manchester United.
Reading 0-1 Chelsea.
Reading 3-1 Sheffield United.
Reading 6-0 Sheffield Wednesday.

All ahead of the Luton game IMO.

agreed, bt I think it's pretty obvious they were trying to make a theme with the Luton to Luton bit.Assuming Luton is sacred for the premise. I'd happily lose Oxford, Brighton or West Ham

Why are they all home games out of curiosity?

what plonker compiled this then? surely not even the club would put these games on such a dvd and omit the aforementioned boro match!

as has also be suggested there's many more games better than this, i'd even rather see us in the infamous Bristol Rovers game over the above so we can see how truly bad we were at one point.

for the record has the club officially announced a dvd or even suggested a release date for one?

Whoops! Should get some of the away games in it though. Draw at Chelsea on Boxing Day would be easily good enough.

What an absolutely shocking choice of games there. Is this an official RFC thing or have they sold the rights off to some cowboy to produce it on their behalf? Either way, this is absolute mince and I won't be parting with my hard-earned.
