Jozy Altidore to Hull City

by seahawk10 » 06 Aug 2009 00:13

Anyone think he might be worth a target if Hull go down and we go up?

Oh, and will he play for Hull? Or is this just cover in case of an injury?

The 'new Freddy Adu' although older when he made his breakthrough, and seems a genuine talent. Much bigger than Adu who has struggled at the top level.

Would be interesting how he fared in the Premier League.

I think he's on the cover of FIFA '08. In the States.

That's potentially a good signing for Hull - its up front where they've struggled, Geovanni the CLUBBREAKER aside.

Didn't he have a trial with us a couple of years ago?

You are thinking of Eddie Johnson who was training with us during the close season of the MLS. He is now at fulham

Ah, maybe we were just linked with him at some point then.

He was one of the stars of the USA team in the Confederations Cup, scored a beauty against Brazil IIRC

Wasnt getting into the first team at Villareal and I reckon he would easily get into our first team

He wasn't getting many games and was loaned out to Xerez (second tier side I think) - makes sense for his career to move to a side where is a guaranteed a start, especially since he is making the breakthrough at international level.

My sources at work - and before you ask I'm a journalist whilst at uni and spend regular time at the KC - believe that Hull are really scraping the barrel. The kid looked out of his depth last year at Villareal, and Phil Brown was just desperate to get a striker in. Also, people at work think that Altidore is too much of a party boy and will get corrupted by the student crowd...i.e. people like me :D

Well the article posted didn't say that, all it did say was

The details of any move are unknown but, if a permanent deal has been agreed, the £5million club record fee paid for Jimmy Bullard could be broken.

Thought he looked a bit rubbish for the US in that tournament a month or two ago.

Think he scored a pretty poor effort against Cassilas. In fact I thought it looked like Cassilas had been expecting a better striker and had dived only to see him hit it fairly tame and straight.

looked a bit carthorse to me.
