Royal Rother papereyes blade 1 I know they were paying big wages to some useless players but they have not bought excessivly and have sold for good money
Under Redknapp they did.
My understanding is that they owe a pretty hefty sum to a bank and the bank, due to other issues, want the majority of it back ASAP.
West Ham - shafted
Southampton - shafted
Portsmouth - shafted
Harry Redknapp - an absolute charlatan
Overspending is not Redknapp's fault surely?
Nor is his uncanny ability to time his departures well. He comes in, does a job, generally successfully on the playing side, spends someone else's money in large lumps, then gets out when it becomes apparent that the money is drying up. How much money was made available has never been his responsibility.
You might be talking sense here, but surely the chairman/board can only spend the money on what players the manager recommends them to sign. If he's always going for players who are likely to be on a fair whack, then something's not right here, is it? Added to the fact that he seems to have his favourites, he keeps buying Crouch, doesn't he?
