Thou Voice http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10306~176564,00.html

Due to the structure changes at Reading FC the club has recognized that a lot of season ticket holders have incorrectly evaluated the clubs position this year.

The clubs targets for the forthcoming season is not to win the Championship or even a play off place, but to consolidate their position mid-league as there is no target in moving forward for this season or the next five years.

The object for this period is to “cut the cloth” so that the club is running more efficiently as a business and competition in the league and any cups is a secondary target.

Based on road map, the club is responding to people that had renewed their season tickets in the first wave under the belief that the club was in active competition this year – it is not.

For the next two weeks, anybody who brought a ticket during the first wave “Early Bird” scheme is eligible for a full refund as the club accepts that they did not make the direction of the club known.

To get your refund please visit the ticket office in person where you can redeem your season tickets and seat position.

All refunds will be returned onto the purchasing credit card.

Great post, I love it.

It's not really much of a decline, is it?

The best way Thou Voice could support RFC is, IF he is a season ticket holder, as he is obviously so disillusioned with the club and does not want to SUPPORT RFC any longer, he could donate his ticket to a currently unemployed fan who cannot afford to go but if he/she went would get behind the team if they were able to go.

Thou Voice could take up paintballing or something else completely w@nk on a Saturday morning to take out his frustrations elsewhere.

Then the unemployed fan would need beer money and probably turn to a life of crime to fund halftime drinking.

No, it would be wrong for me to encourage a life of crime on an already unemployed person. If somebody unemployed wants to see the game, then I hear that the club has some open positions for the odd striker or two.

Nice post

I for one feel like I've been conned.

Given the direction the club have taken I think they should have reduced prices

Season Ticket Refund - Part II

by Thou Voice » 26 Sep 2009 22:19

Righto chaps, we already know that we were conned by the great RFC into renewing our ST's and THEN THEY CUT the squad so all we have to watch is a reserve team rather then a squad that can actually play. The stats are for all to see, Play Off last season and Relegation Battle this season...

...but my gripe is this...

...we pay FULL PRICE for our tickets, but the club insists on giving discounts to the general public to buy their tickets?

Surely they should also be giving us a refund on our ST's if they are going to continue to discount the regular tickets?

DO YOU SEE?

Which is why next season, regardless who the manager is, who the players are, who owns the club and the league we are in, I am taking my hard earned pounds down to somewhere like Maidenhead Utd, Bracknell Town or Windsor & Eton. At least I will not be treated like a thug and continually patronised by a bunch of retards who run this club.

And no Jimmy Kebe either.

Unless season tickets drop to a reasonable price for next season, reduction by at least 35%, then the club can get screwed. I won't be renewing along with thousands of others. We are amongst the most expensive, if not thee most expensive in the championship and more than a lot of premier league clubs. I can't even believe I've paid 490 or whatever it was to watch a team winless at home since last january and only one win away so far this season - its disgusting and if the club had any manners they would give the fans back something. I.e pay for an away trip busses like a lot of other clubs do when they've put their fans through hell. Am I hopeful? No, when was the last time reading made a gesture to all their fans? I don't mean a 10 quid dominos pizza at half time either.

The false teeth are not the problem. Its the number of empty bottles of Sanatogen left lying around that are. Health and safety and all that!

I have known FiNeRaIn for his infamous fishing trips, but I have to say even the most evangelic enemies of FiNeRaIn can echo the truth in this statement.

They did run free buses to Naaaaaarwich last season.

Otherwise, I can not disagree with what else you said. Rip-off Britain? More like Rip-off Reading! That's why I am off at the end of this season irrespective of where we are.
