Royalee Rodgers has only been a manager for a short period of time so it's hardly fair to level that at him. In his short time as a manager he managed to turn Watford around from relegation certainties to the second form team in the division over the second half of the season.
Unfortunately you neglect to mention the two unsuccessful seasons before and after 06 and 07, where he undid all of his good work.
I don't need to.
It's very rare you achieve a lifetimes ambition and one of my lifetime ambitions was to see Reading played in the Premiership. Coppell played a huge part in, not only achieving this ambition, but bettering it by flourishing in the first season.
Whatever happened in other seasons, that's his achievement and i'll take that against a manager who, thus far, has achieved very little.
The majority of managers go on to never be hugely successful, that's why managers who have achieved are so highly sought after despite other failures. Ask 100 Plymouth/Barnsley fans who they would prefer, Coppell or Rodgers, I would be staggered if less than 98 said Coppell.
I really don't mind you blind faith in Rodgers, it's the incessent criticism of Coppell that grates - hugely as he is singularly the most successful employee in the club's history and, almost certainly, still will be in 50 years time.
