I actually thought that the foul on Arseshaving was more of a definite penalty than Rooney's penalty. Rooney's penalty was in every way similar to the way Andy Johnson earned a penalty for Crystal Palace against Reading in Reading's championship winning season. Kicked the football out of touch and fall over the keeper. As the football has been kicked out of touch, how was Rooney/Johnson going to score if the keeper had not touched them? It's quite obvious that both Johnson and Rooney went looking for the penalty.
