Archie's penalty Was listening to the 5live show about it.
They think (and I tend to agree) that the attacking of the women is close to as good as the men. The defending and goalkeeping simply isn't.
They were saying we should stop comparing it to the men's game as it's a different game. We have basically stopped doing that with cricket, surely some day we can do that with the footie (although I admit it's difficult not to compare the two sports).

Row Z Royal And lolz @ the comment from Powell on the radio this morning.
Along the lines of "Yeah, we conceded 6, but I don't think we were really outplayed".

It was good enough for Reading fans when we shipped 7 at Pompey.

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe It's pathetic the coverage this stuff gets.
The 5Live program last night was painful, even pulled the old there would be no wars if women were in charge line out.
How does female football make it on TV? Show some Blue Square Premiership, give coverage to proper footballers.
Heard the one about the attacking play being just as good. LOL. No pace, no power, no vision, no ability to run off the ball. It's not just the physical aspect that they lack, there wasn't a single footballing brain on show last night. You can tell by the way they play. They are well drilled, but they are not playing with freedom, they are not good enough to do so.
It's like watching U12 boys football....

I'd like to see the England women play a men's team of around League One standard. I'd wager the women would be 2 up by the time the opposition had stopped telling themselves 'girls can't play football'.
Decent game, Carney good as usual. Problem for England was Germany's women are more or less semi-pro, so to get two goals against them is at least some consolation. Still need a sport-wide 'keeper improvement programme, mind you.

prostak Starfish,
So- your experience of one game which took place an unspecified amount of time ago, taking place in a minor country (soccer-wise) without even a fully professional league, is the sum total of your argument?
