roberto_11 To be fair, at least 90% of the opinions posted on here are complete rubbish, as they are made by people who have never even played the game

tbf 93% of statistics are made up on the spot my friend, and opinions on opinions tend to be the most slurrious of the lot. i would, however, like to know how you reached your lofty plinth of conversational overview and when and where you 'played the game' to gain such obvious and broad-minded expertise.

we daft numpties shall continue to argue the demerits of the offside system with ketchup bottles until your next sermon.

(if there is a whoosh here, its not funny.) :?

So, to get to the point of my post, have you played football? If so, then obviously your opinion is a valued one on a football debate. If not, its the equaivalent of listening to the wonderful insights of someone like Bill Gates on Match of the Day

And for the record, Mills signed way before the Smith deal fell apart and is a centreback. How on earth could he be a desperation signing because of that. That is quite frankly THE stupidest thing I have seen on the Team Board this season.

its gotta be up there innit

Ian Royal Christ the retards are out in force on here.

Size of signing fee =/= the reason for playing someone. Anyone getting their nickers in a twist about a player not starting just because they cost a lot is a total oxf*rd-wit.
Anyone complaining about a player who cost a lot not starting when the ones in his position are performing well is a oxf*rd-wit.

Mills did not have a full preseason. As a specialist centreback he was still a better bet than Cisse despite this. He can now get as close to up to speed as possible in the reserves (which aren't a massively disimilar level to preseason games - the way everyone else got up to speed). Pearce is captain and is obviously highly rated by Rodgers. O'Dea is from Celtic and is being groomed for their first team, so is obviously a player for the top of this division, which is higher than we are. He has barely put a foot wrong. Mills did not look up to speed in the games he played. It's a oxf*rd no brainer.

You do not bring a centreback on in a close game, or one you are losing just to give him a few minutes to get match fit. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a oxf*rd-wit.

This is probably the stupidest thing people could be complaining about right now.

And for the record, Mills signed way before the Smith deal fell apart and is a centreback. How on earth could he be a desperation signing because of that. That is quite frankly THE stupidest thing I have seen on the Team Board this season. Congrats RL. That's no mean achievement considering posters like Woodcote and Royalee.

If that's sarcastic:- Sod off.

If it's not, you've just contradicted yourself because my opinion is like listening to Bill Gates on Match of the Day, apparently.

Either way I think you're a tit.

Put it this way

If Bill gates and Alan Shearer were sat on the sofa on Match of the Day, whose opinion would you value more??

That is my point

People should be happy that we have a £2million player on the bench providing competition for those currently in the first team. Yet still moaning.

your argument is flawed on so many levels that is difficult to know how to counter it without it falling on top of me....

Ian - if you read my post properly, you'd see that I was innocently asking the question, as I HONESTLY COULDN'T REMEMBER.

So less of the talking to me as if I'm some sort of brain dead moron.

Roberto Racist - I used to manage a school boy football team.

Oh give up your pretend asking questions to try and get away with ridiculously stupid comments. You're fooling no one but yourself.

Maybe in future engage your brain, because the part of it that asks these "questions" is clearly dealing with an alternate universe.

CB a desperation buy after losing out on an attacker, when we had one fit CB. Jesus christ women, even ignoring the timing it's the second stupidest thing I've ever seen you post!

PS - lovely seeing you and the family at the weekend. A very nice chat. :)

Ideal ...can't even make the team.

Discuss.

I don't know if you've noticed but the defensive side of our game isn't the problem, so mills not making the team is because the rest of that department are doing their job. If we had a 2million pound striker who wasn't playing or playing well then yes we would have cause for concern.

RL - never said you didnt. I merley pointed out that a lot of posters on here know nothing about football. You obviously just dont know about match fitness 8)

Ok then well to save you naming all the different levels on which you say it is flawed, name just one. As I cannot think of any.

I'd like to see him and O'Dea at the back, but I can't see Rodgers' dropping our vice-captain.
Plus, Mills provides competition for O'Dea, Ingi, Pearce. If we hadn't signed him, who would we have?

it seems to me that youre saying, and i cant quite work out how much, that someone has to have played football in order to know anything about football?

i would probably just say jose mourinho to you and move on tbh. theres no need to thank me.

But surely people who have played football, regardless of whether it was for your school team or for Real Madrid, will be in a much better position to make an informed judgement?

For example you are more likely to chose a trained plumber, not some random bloke you meet in the street, to fix your plumbing!!
