They issue a kiddies team with RFC flags to wave when the teams enter the pitch.

Then usher them off.....having firstly grabbed the "expensive" flags back

Surely to let them keep them..... to wave incessently for 90 minutes would be .....seen as far too generous....FFS Reading

Out of interest, do the kiddies team also have to pay to be there?
Dont know and this is purely assumption, but....

Maybe they don't have to pay admission, however their many adult custodians do.

Then of course, there is the copious amounts of choccy bars and hot-dogs that get eaten, and the gallons os of fizz pop that gets drunk.

The kids all dressed up in their kits are oblivious...its their big day out...........so to let them keep the flags would not hurt the club coffers.

TIGHT ARSE READING....and just whose bright idea was it to re-use those flags?

You notice we've started advertising on the scoreboard in breaks of play?

It's what this club is coming to.

There is just too much wrong off the pitch with the club. The merchandising is a complete joke. How many other clubs have their new kits available BEFORE the season starts? The cost of car parking gets higher and higher as does the cost of taking the bus. The catering inside and outside the stad is nothing short of a joke as well. The less said about the stewarding the better. The sound bites from the club would make a government spin doctor proud. And then we have the complete nonsense of the flag wavers and the screching start to the second half. Come on Reading FC. Stop treating us like mugs.

Silver Fox A well run business?

A business that mucked its finances up so badly it had to sell any recognised player to stay afloat?

Smacks of incompetence to me.

I think we all know Madejski has been "balancing the books" so its a viable business to sell FR.

By reacting to an 80%+ cut in income? That would have driven many clubs into oblivion.

Long term income, if they pissed away all the prem money already - they are terrible businessmen.

They've cocked up the finances big style. The only other clubs who have been as poorly managed as us in recent years are leeds, bradford, southampton and chartlon - and they all spent money on their teams, we didn't, yet felt the need to rid ourselves of every proven player we had. Laughable way to run a football club.

I genuinely can't believe some of these comments on the financial situation!!

Chairman buys Club.
Chairman invests millions in Club over the years.
Club, using this investment, gets to Premiership and earns itself a tidy sum.
Club gets relegated but players (and some backroom staff) still want Premiership wages, which with the lack of Premiership money, makes the books look not as pretty.
Said players / staff are offloaded.
Chairman then wants to sell so, as he is entitled to do, starts reclaiming some of the money he has invested whilst balancing the books the make it look a bit more attractive to potential buyers.
The End.

You forgot to add selling the ENTIRE first team squad for a few free transfers and youth academy players. Basically a form of reserve team.

Don't waste your time - someone who's made their mind up so emphatically can't be reasoned with.....

As they say, there's none so blind as those that won't see.

I felt particularly sorry for the poor kids who were over from Bermuda at the start of the season. The half-time penalty shoot out in that game was a joke - no name mentions, no commentary/comments etc. A little bit more care (which shouldn't be a problem as it costs absolutely nothing!) and thier day could have been made really special. As it was, they might as well have been taking their penalties out in the car park.

There's going to be plenty of fans on the pitch before long if we don't pick up a few points in the next 10 games.

They should just hire Michael Buffer, would be 1million times better.

'and in the home corner wth a record of 1 win, 2 draws and 4 losses, 3 of them by the way of 1 goal murkage, they stand at barely over 5ft and barely above drinking age, the kids with the skids, the youth who won't hoof, Brendaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaans, Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabes.

'and now for the (just about) thousands in attendance, and seahawk and Big Ern, watching around the world
