As an aside, this weekend has already given us a leading contender for OG of the season. Step forward Kevin Nicholson of Torquay:

Also, seeing that Flavio Briatore has been banned from FIA sanctioned events for an unlimited period, does this mean he's now failing the "fit and proper person" test (or whatever it is that the FA have to work out if a potential owner / director of a club isn't a complete crook)? If so, would he have to leave QPR with immediate effect?

Yes it does - situation currently under review at the FA.

No, he left Renault and therefore cannot be charged.

Dirkers, I read in the paper at the weekend that the myriad of shell companies involved make the Notts County ownership details stink a bit and the league can't work who is the owner so can'twork out if they're a fit and proper person. Any insight?

Did he not get a lifetime ban from the FIA anyway?

Yep! Thought so...

Yep, it's happening as we speak - they've not passed the FL's ownership rules (which are slightly tougher than the PL's & FA's) so it's now all up in the air . : http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11750_5573602,00.html

To be honest it's just great to see some proper pasion back in the Manchester Derby.

City really have hit the ground running and mixed things up, despite all the dickheads in the press and their clueless predictions.

Can't see past Chelsea this year I fear....

Agreed. Same with Jamie Carragher. 100% about the club they play for.

This from the 11-year-old who, when Michael Thomas scored the last-gasp winner at Anfield in 1989 to deny Liverpool the title, celebrated in delirious fashion, applauding lads who scrawled 'Thank You Arsenal' on the wall of a Bootle pub.
'I was a total Everton fanatic right through my childhood and teens,' says the defender who went on to play over 500 games for Liverpool.
'Everton controlled my life and dominated my thoughts 24/7. I went to the away games, followed them across Europe and in the mid-80s went to Wembley so often it began to feel like Alton Towers.
'When I talk about that Everton team I still say 'we'. Even when I was playing for Liverpool reserves I'd want Everton's first team to win the derby every time.'
