Harpers So Solid Crew So you judge Holloway on nine games as a success, and BR as a failure.

Yeah quite true, but compared to BR and IH today, taking their respective teams in directly opposite directions, I can see why we got the best part of the deal!
Actually I can't, perhaps you could explain?

handbags_harris That would be the same Holloway who took QPR from the 3rd to the 2nd tier, who worked extremely well when at Bristol Rovers, a side who habitually sold their most talented strikers. This would be the same Ian Holloway who looked like he may be building something at Plymouth with no money before upping sticks for Leicester. He may have been in charge for their relegation, but defensively they were pretty damn good, they had the 2nd best defensive record for that division. And wonder of wonders, he's doing a good job at Blackpool. He's a decent manager for Championship level. He'll get a team up from this division one day.

Spot on HH. He'd have got Bristol Rovers promoted had they not sold off an absolute load of attacking talent to balance the books. QPR were in utter disarray when he was there and still got them promoted and kept them up. Plymouth have been utterly dire since he's left, and now of course Blackpool are flying in a division they shouldn't really be in with the lack of resourses they have.
The only club where he wasn't good was Leicester who were already well on the slide when he took over.

Rev Algenon Stickleback H Holloway's no tactical genius. He just keeps it simple and knows what works at this level. I don't think he could build a team that could get out of this division though, except maybe scraping into the play-offs, and would probably see any promoted team torn to shreds.
Rodger's tactics, on the other hand, would probably work better in the premier with different players, but it's hard to see them working in this division with players who've never played 4-3-3 in their lives.
