Thanks for all the inputs chaps, very useful.

Agreed the group stages can be pretty dull, but some of the knockout games in the last couple of seasons in particular have been outstanding. When did you last see a big 4 match in the Prem produce 8 goals?

I was at the Chelsea-Barca semi last year, and in terms of drama, excitement (and amusement), I haven't been to a domestic game that compared in a long time.

Got me there, forgot about that one.

The fact that I did illustrates that it wasn't an important game mind - Liverpool's title chances were pretty much over by then.

Anyway, I'll take my medicine.

Not at all but when you have kids you are restricted to what you can actually do in the evening especially when the missus works so you're stuck in doors. I probably only watch about 2hrs of TV a day, hence me not having sky, so whenever there is a football match on TV i'd like to watch it - no matter who's playing.
