Roberto Mancini is the name in the frame this morning at 80k a week, he'll earn more in a week than McParland did in a year.

Shocking.........i really hope they dont just throw all the money at the club and then walk away, its ok when you're Man City or Chelsea in the Premiership but Notts County in League Two its going to be a long time before they are back in the top flight and probably by then anyway we'll have a European super league set up.

Or not. If they got promoted this season for example, January spending, next summer spending, the momentum carrying them into League 1... they could quite easily be in the Championship within 18 months. One step from the Premiership. If the financial support continues, they will be the next Fulham IMO - or greater if funding remains. Notts County will play Premier League football before any so called super league is started. (hopefully never)

Jay, football in real life =/= football on the Football Manager computer game.

I don't think it's that easy to throw money and get a football team from the basement into the top division in 3 seasons.

Cant believe i'm saying this but.....i agree with Spacey

Look at QPR - hardly setting the championship alight despite having wealthy owners. Its not as easy as buying all the best players and chucking them together - especially in the lower league. Look at the whole Sol Campbell situation - he joins, plays 1 game and then leaves how do you think that affects team/player moral and if he's done that whats to say other "top" ageing stars wont do the same!?

Well of course it isn't easy, but Fulham are a good example of how fast it can be done.

Er, Fulham started spending big when they were in the 3rd tier. And they spent 2 seasons at the 2nd tier.

But they aren't really splashing the money are they? They appointed Jim Magilton.....

This is sort of the point though, they know its not as easy as throwing loads of money at the club and knowing it will get them instant success and promotion.

I don't think that is the case at all. I don't believe they bought the club with the intention of investing millions in it. Some owners do, many don't.
