would you want king?

if you were BR in a year or so time, when king gets out of prison would you want to sign him for the club, knowing that he is a theif/woman beater/thunder twat? (assuming BR is still with the royals)

Where is the option 'I hope he gets beat up and raped in jail but when he gets out I would be happy if he signed for us'???

I'd like to say I wouldn't take him, but it all depends on who else is available and you can afford at the time.

It also depends on Kings frame of mind too. If he's just going to be a distracted pain in the arse then he probably wouldn't be worth the agro. If he was clearly ready to knuckle down to make the most of his last couple of seasons then I'd be sorely tempted.

On his day he's a very good Championship forward.

Done time before and teams have taken him back. Same as Lee Hughes going to jail as teams still happily wanted him.

I mean, in a board of truly retarded threads this is actually up there.

Anyway.

I would not.
I would hope that the club would not.
I am not as stupid or as loyally blinded to the club as to think that the club wouldn't think twice about signing a man with his particular record.
I would be disappointed but not that surprised.

Indeed.

And although I agree with the rest of your post, I would also have to say that I found it a bit puzzling that his victim was claiming last week that he should not be allowed to play football again. I just don't understand that. If he was a hairdresser or a graphic designer or ... I don't know what, people would have laughed at the mere suggestion.

What I found truly depressing was that he had a track record for beating women.

Did Wigan know that? And they still signed him?

I didn't know that, to be honest. Maybe it's just as well he's not a hairdresser then.

Something like 14 previous convictions, 2 of which involved assaults on women after he they rejected his advances. Another girl today is claiming sexual harassment from King too. Obviously he's not the nicest guy, however completely agree with Starfish, banning him from football is ridiculous. His conviction has no connection what so ever to his profession and once he's done his time he is entitled to return to football, although I admit I wouldn't want him here.

No - I would like to think that morally RFC would do the right thing.

That's what I was thinking when Dave Whelan was doing his moral high ground stuff. He didn't give a toss about his background or criminal record when he signed him. So essentially Whelan doesn't mind if you're a bad person so long as you score lots of goals for him, don't do that and he'll change his mind.
