Thaumagurist*wolsey Seems like Hull maight be applying to join the club
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/oct/28/hull-city-accounts-losses
Hull City warned by accountants of struggle to remain a going concern• Hull require £16m surplus to meet current liabilities• Players sales recommended as way to raise funds
Hull City have been warned their uncertain financial position threatens the club's "ability to continue as a going concern". The club's accounts, filed five months late to Companies House, say that in the event of relegation the Premier League club will need to generate a £23m surplus just to meet their existing liabilities.
What a fucking surprise. People on the Team board very often whinge about how the likes of Hull and Wigan are able to spend a lot of money when we are not. It's simple. They are spending beyond their means, i.e. they don't have the money and are borrowing it!

Wonder how much pressure or incentive it would take to "roll over" on hia mate Harry. Thats of course if Harry hasn't already done the same to Storrie.

Gordon Taylor "You can understand much better problems in the Football League and lower down,"
"But if that is happening in the Premier League I'm sure it is not good for the image of the game and if it is the case it is not going to be highly thought of at the headquarters of the Premier League either.

Pay up, Pompey!
So, Ali Al-Faraj's 'saving' of Portsmouth look increasingly like it might itself be in need of saving, following the news that Pompey have once again failed to pay their players.
They issued a statement saying 'A proportion of the wages will be paid tomorrow with the club's new owners working towards paying the remainder over the next few days.' It sounds more like a lame excuse from the chairman of any of the myriad non-league clubs in crisis at the moment, not one of the 20 apparently bomb proof Premier League clubs owned by a savvy investor who knows how to run a successful business.
When Al-Faraj took over in October, it was at the back-end of a short-lived experiment with Sulaiman Al-Fahim, the excitable property developer and minor TV celebrity who suddenly realised that either his pockets had holes in them or the Dubai property market wasn't all it was cracked up to be (which we know now to be true).
There are several problems here: Al-Faraj apparently doesn't really take a great deal of an active role at the Club; he doesn't hail from the kind of wealthy background that Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Man City does; the club still needs a new stadium (the same one that's been all the talk of the town for about the last 1/3 of a century and which the city Council declined to back as part of the England World Cup bid); and Al-Fahim is still lurking around. The future doesn't look all that bright. In fact, it sounds more and more like the beginnings of their descent into a financial black hole - the question remaining seems only to be how low will they go?
