Its the conditions outside the grounds which are forcing the games to be called off, not necassarily the pitch conditions.

How did we ever used to play matches back in the days when the snow was shovelled off of the chalked lines...............the fans turned up (in the days that preceeded rocksalt and H&S) , the white football was replaced by an orange one and the players played on the snow?
