Change of heart - Adebayor and most of the squad wanted to go home, now they want to stay.
The Togolese Government are ordering them to return to Togo and are sending a plane to Angolo to do so.

Do you reckon Adebayor ran the length of the bus to celebrate in front of the gunners this time?

To be fair, the African Cup of Nations is the only football competition that starts with a shootout!

Bizarre that the stadium is practically empty for this Algeria match. From that last shot I couldn't see anyone in the actual stands

Ivory Coast were pretty poor there - not sure having Drogba up front on his own like that works, he got no service. Great display from Malawi, bet they can't do it again though.

needs some context. Luanda is impossible to get around unless you do it on foot, and the stadium is some way out of the city centre. there's shitloads of money floating about in Luanda but not enough rich people to make 40,000 think it's worth going to a lunchtime (hottest part of the day) kick-off for Malawi v Algeria when their own country has already played the night before. how many people would bother with that match if it were given a 2pm kick-off in late July at the Madstad when there's Test cricket on at the same time?

low crowds are as much an AFCON phenomenon as bad goalkeeping and crosses shanked onto dusty running tracks
