Would be quite happy to see this happen. Might be soon enough for Spurs to survive his curse as well.

All got financial problems. All had Harry's grubby mitts all over them. All eventually relegated

I'm by no means a Redknapp fan, but you've got to wonder why chairmen keep giving him such free financial rein - surely the majority of the blame must lie with them? If he's that good at persuading people to pay beyond their means for things they could really do without, he seems a loss to international arms dealing...

because he sweet-talks them into believing him - in the same way as he gets a phenomenally easy ride form the press.

Not much of a story really. He's a multi multi millionaire, and we're talking about pennies (to him). If he did mean to avade tax, it seems a pathetic amount when you're so well off and it's unnessasary. Should he really lose his job over this?

No doubting he's a shady bugger mind

How much did Lester Piggott evade paying? Not quite as wealthy perhaps but equally high profile...

1987: Lester Piggott jailed for three years

Former champion jockey, Lester Piggott, has been sentenced to three years imprsionment after being found guilty of an alleged tax fraud of over £3m.
The 51-year-old remained stony-faced as he was sentenced by Mr Justice Farquharson at Ipswich Crown Court.

But his wife, Susan, collapsed in tears as he was taken to Norwich prison.

Piggott was jailed after failing to declare income to the Inland Revenue of £3.25m.

The biggest sum on the charge sheet relates to an alleged omission of £1,359,726 from additional riding income. Another alleged that for 14 years, from 1971, he omitted income of £1,031,697 from bloodstock operations.

A massive, massive plus 1.

Harry knew what was gonna happen at Pompey, he told them to sign the players, he knew how much they were costing. Then he just lies and say he has nothing to do with transfers and never deals with agents....

Albeit through financial ruin, almost every time. It says quite a lot about the crazy short-term thinking of modern football. It seems counter-intuitive - as the business side of the game becomes ever more dominant, thus filling it with more people from the finance world, the chairmen and directors seem increasingly prone to terrible decisions with money. All of that is mainly why I'd never in 1.000 years call for Madejski to go.
