6ft Kerplunk Its comes to something when you feel you have to defend Spacey. Yes he was wearing an Arsenal top, not Spacey obviously.

Why defend Spacey when it was posted at 6pm last night on this very thread about 4 or 5 posts above his :?

TBF to spazcruiser the earlier mentions of this used real names for Adebayor and Arsenal so he prolly didn't understand what we meant

Thaumagurist* I saw Adegayor on SSN this morning, talking about the coach attack and describing it as the worst time in his life. But stop the press! Is he really so thick as to have forgot which club he now plays for, as he was wearing an ARSEHOLE shirt!

Now, where do i start wtih this........

I'm amazed that no-one has mentioned the fact that Algeria (ranked 26 in the World and in England's World Cup Group) got taken apart 3-0 by Malawi, who are ranked 99 in the World, below the Cape Verde Islands!!!!

I sort of mentioned it on p.3

Cameroon taking their time to find their feet against Gabon at the moment, a bit like Ivory Coast struggling the other day.

I've seen every minute of every match so far

Manchester City forward Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed the reason behind him being photographed wearing an Arsenal shirt on Tuesday.

The former Gunners' striker was giving an interview following the gun attack on Togo's team coach in Angola last week, which resulted in the death of three people including Togo's assistant manager and press officer.

Media reports instead focussed on Adebayor's attire, with the Arsenal top he was wearing sparking a range of claims suggesting the forward could be returning to the Emirates Stadium, or that the pictures had been digitally modified.

However, Adebayor has admitted that the images were genuine, but that he simply had not realised what he was wearing.

"I realised this morning when I woke up that I was wearing an Arsenal shirt yesterday," he said.

"What happened was that on the Angola border, we left all our baggage on the bus and ran away. So I had nothing to wear and the first person I asked gave me that shirt.

"I didn't even realise what I was wearing. Even yesterday, instead of going to my room to sleep I went to the wrong room.

"Everyone is confused about what happened. In our heads we don't know what we are doing."

Ivory Coast out, despite all their stars and Fae

Algeria win with extra time goal from Bouzza

Their keeper did his best to feign injury for the whole of extra time
Great "goal" from Toure given offside

First game I've watched for any length of time - to be honest not too impressed with standard

LOLZ at Ivory Coast as they manage to score the goal of the tournament (Keita) and the Big Red Nose Trophy for the most comical defending. They will not get out the group in South Africa if they defend like that.

they looked hopeless tbh - I bet there's a huge "us and them" thing between the European-based players and the others (actually probably jsut the ones at the big clubs and the others.

Seem to rule this tournament but don't get into a World Cup...

Strange one.

A mental thing or just bad luck?

Perhaps a bit of both. The other possibility is that they might regard ACON as the priority and build around that whereas other nations might choose to focus on WC qualification.

Anyway, fair play to them. I'm laying the fukc out of Algeria on Thursday.

ACON and WC had the same qualification stages - top 3 from 5 groups qualified for ACON, top 1 for a WC.

So it could just be having missed out a very tight call to go to the World Cup, they put their effort into this?

Good penalty shoot-out last night. Never seen one before where both goalkeepers took the fifth penalties for their respective teams.

Egypt are the best team in Africa by a fair stretch I reckon - they just bottled one big game in qualification
