"You don't know what you're doing!"

"Madejski Out!"

"Where's the money gone?"

Chants would be a fine thing.

Berry how do you defend the way Reading are at the moment? Its a real shame and its happening every week

Unfortunately, you can't defend the way we are. The best anyone is likely to come up with is 'oh well at least we'll never be in danger of administration' because we're saving so much money by shipping decent players out on loan to other clubs.

All we can do is get behind BM and the players on the pitch. Ideal situation would be to see and hear a great atmosphere against Barnsley on Saturday, then for a ridiculously tanned JM to come out on the pitch after the game (doing his usual two hand wave thing) and getting roundly booed off.

( Terminal Boardom basically just posted pretty much exactly what I just wrote, but I'll post it anyway)

Sadly, there is more chance of Angelina Jolie and Kirsten Dunst having a threesome with me than there is of SJM making an appearance on the pitch.

Yeah but it would be a laugh. Especially if he turned up having forgotten to take of his sun hat and shades, with a pink garland round his neck... and maybe a couple of girls in grass skirts on either arm.

John Madj: "The team are well-organised under Brian"

Plymouth 4-1 Reading. That was a performance about as well organised as a small drinks party held in a brewery and hosted by the Chuckle Brothers.

Good luck Brian. You'll need it.

The defence certainly doesn't look that organised.

If he can just ditch Ivar and Khiz proves a good signing, and he can drop Cisse and play Howard so we have a combative, but also skillful central midfield, we can hold onto the ball better, and be more solid defensively, which will relieve a lot of pressure.

I'm teetering on the McDermott bandwagon. If he keeps playing midfield pairings that are easy to bypass and have zero creativity, then we're doomed. If he gets that right, we have a chance.

Congratulations Brian. He's a top, top bloke and I feel 100% confident we will be in the Championship next season.

Of course I'll still be supporting from the North Stand if we are in League 1 (as long as the very nice lady who sits next to me is still there 8) )

Let's face it - that's the only option we have, and so our only hope for success. And that chance of success increases the more people who support him.

Do they have girls in grass skirts in the Canaries? Must have missed that one! And whatever would Cilla say???

And who briefed SJM before saying this to the world?

I have always had great faith in Brian. His period in charge simply reaffirmed what I already knew.

"It was important to give him an opportunity and he has taken it."

He continued: "He has managed the team very well during a difficult period and this decision is based on the entirety of his work, both as first team manager and in his previous roles during his 10 years here.

"The team are well-organised under Brian and he is passing on a wealth of experience to our players. He clearly has the full backing of the squad and the majority of the performances have been good, while he has been unfortunate to have been handed four of his five league games away from home."

Can we all (well the non-rabid majority at least) now just get behind the club and be as positive and encouraging as possible?

The job is given. It won't change again before the summer. For better or worse, regardless of your opinion we've got him and we're stuck with him so back us, give us the best chance YOU can of staying up and get down to the recriminations and tantrums in the summer if they're necessary.

I committ to starting the ball rolling by saying no more on the subject of Rodgers and backing Cisse, Ivar & Long to the hilt if if they're played.

Um, somebody who knew what they were talking about I'd say. What has been stated there that isn't true?

Course promoting from within never works does it, as Liverpool proved with Shankly, Fagan, Paisley and Evans...

Whole heartedly agree - see my post on the other thread on this subject for my reaction.

I'm booking my Barnsley ticket tomorrow.

Created loads of chances against Sheff Utd, I am glad he's got the job, though perhaps he'll think again before playing Long.

Agree with you up until the last line. Neither Ivar (great servant) or Long (great hurler) would be in my side were I to pick. Just at the moment Cisse may warant a centre back role, but, certainly not in central midfield.

I think you may be misreading IR's point.

He doesn't like any of the listed ones - he's just sayhing that he'll support them IF they're picked.

Spot on, apart from I only really dislike Long.

Ivar I have the greatest respect for and love him as a past player, but I wouldn't play him. Cisse has his pros, but again I certainly wouldn't play him in midfield. Ever.
