I saw my m8, the other day, he said he's seen the white Pele, so I asked who is? He goes by the name of Wayne Rooney. Wayne Rooney Wayne Rooney

Pele - the black Rooney - might be more appropriate on recent form. When even Phil Thompson is praising his performances you know he's playing well. Like Messi for Argentina, and Ronaldo for Portugal, he might just be able to turn an above average international side into contenders this summer, metatarsal pending.

If you're being serious, then I seriously question how much you know about football, and If you have ever played the game.

They guy is phenomenal.

One very good team goal today on the break.
He is certainly at the top of his game in our football-let's hope he can do it in South Africa against the better defenders.

Best news is he seems to have grown up a bit and got his temper under control.

LOL at the idea that he's 'overrated'. He's still 3 or 4 years off his peak and is already by a margin the best English player around.

Gotta be the next England captain. Even now if Terry resigns.

You could argue it would add pressure, but the guy thrives on it.

He's well on his way to becoming the best English player I have seen. Was a bit young to appreciate Gazza in his prime, but Rooney's talent will shine far longer.

Rooney or lampard for england captain IMO.

Rooney will be injured before the world cup so no point getting excited.

I remember you spouting this rubbish in an earlier thread. I challenged you to justify it then but you didn't, so will ask again now.....

- How exactly is the best English player of his generation overated?

- Who is it who 'overrates' him?

- Just who is worthy of your praise?

Who is online
