yappy Chase the Sun- Planet Funk

Was that was what played yesterday? What a dreadful, dreadful, dreadful choice, absolutely appalling! If the club feel they have to play something then at least make it something uplifting or with life or a certain cheesiness in it, not some unrememberable, tuneless background filler.

:?:
I smell fish...

but if not...surely it is everything that you have said it isn't!? Personally, I have no interest in watching darts but I'd go along just for the celebrations, it's great fun.

Never had anything against Tom Hark, but EVERYBODY uses it now and it was getting boring. Personally, I'd got to a stage where I'd have not been bothered if they stopped playing it.

I hope the pause before it's played stays though. It's nice to get a bit of spontaneous celebrating/chanting in before the tune kicks in!

My advice is go and watch some darts and then come back and tell us that Chase the Sun doesn't work...

I have and its crap there as well. It's a piece of "wet lettuce" compared something with a bit more oomph. If you're not using Tom Hark then use something equally short and explosive like the into/outro of Reward by The Teadrop Explodes

The thing with the Darts music is its played in a closed venue with maybe 500-2,000 (pure estimates) people, the majority who are blokes who are pissed up and rowdy and that's why it comes across really good on the TV. In a stadium that has crap acoustics, you can barely make out the song and it simply doesn't have the same feel to it.

It does where I sit! I'm so surprised to see people complaining about it... it seemed to me like people had really taken to it (and I don't even sit in a 'rowdy' area!)

Still, can't please everyone.

For me the song itself is 'just some alright dance track from a long while back' - and it may not be the greatest piece of music on it's own, but it's what you yourself do while it's on that makes it fun. I mean if you stood there with a long face and tried to convince yourself that Tom Hark was boring and a waste of time you could, but if you join in then actually it's a bit of a laugh. I just don't see how when everyone else is singing along to it you can say you can barely make it out? Perhaps it just hasn't taken off where you sit.

All this proves is that for any music (goal music, team-coming-out music, etc, etc), just over 50% of people will hate it and think that their choice is better.

Yep. When they first did chase the sun, i stupidly assumed they'd cracked it. For me the failure of said tune to win over everyone just proves that it is UNCRACKABLE!

I still think NO MUSIC is by far the best option.

No music would be the best option, in my opinion too.

However, in order to kick-off that possibility, how about playing 'The Ghost of Love' repeatedly by David Lynch from Inland Empire.

That would confuse matters somewhat.

I thought for the first time last night that this actually worked. I suppose STH's who may not have heard it prior to it being played at Liverpool may have thought wtf, but now they seem to be used to it.

yeh last night it really worked, (it also helped that last night was the first time I could actually hear it. Speakers always been dodgy above where I sit). It just took a few weeks for people to realise what it was I think.

If we have to have music played every time we score a goal, then why can't it be something original.

For this, I give you....

Why don't we go the whole hog and copy ice hockey? Lets have music for when we win a corner, free kick or even a throw in?

Wycombe used to play some horrible red indian chant when they won a corner. It was far worse than anything we've ever done, and that includes "back the boys!!!" screeched by nine year olds.

NO!!! And it was not Journey but a Journey song as my missus has been complaining about. They are worse than The Osmonds. oxf*rd, I would rather be stuck in a room forced to listen to Paper Roses ad nauseum.

Royal Lady so new goal music for a new decade

After the Liverpool game I asked one of my mates what he thought of the new music - he said:

"'It's not new, it's been in place since the start of the season - it just took until January for them to get a chance to play it"
