Ask me in May if we did enough.....

The three who have come in are all good signings OK, I really have no idea whether Thorvaldsson is, but he's played in a top European league and has decent credentials)

It's quite possible none the the three will do much and we'll still stay up though as I remain convinced that we have a better squad than results suggest. Sadly we could go 46 games saying that as results are everything....

Wycombe Royal
Hoop Blah EDIT: He scored 5 goals in his first 8 games when he first went to Preston....told you he could do it!!!

You don't mention when that was though. I believe it was at the start of 2001 - 9 years ago.

Something like that yes WR, but as it was just a direct response to show that I wasn't proving he needed a long time to settle in to a club I really couldn't be arsed to do any more research.

As it happens he started OK at Leeds too, 6 in his first 14, 2 in his first 2 at Fulham (2007) and he didn't really get a game so I don't think it's a valid comparison, although he did score on his debut as it happens!

I think that shows he's not a slow starter, which is the point Vision raised following my post.

...as it's a totally pointless discussion I'm really really going to try and not post again!

Hoop Blah We could do with some cover/competition though.

If either of Sigurdsson or McAnuff pick up an injury or drastically lose form what are we left with?

Tabb, Henry, Robson-Kanu and Kebe at the moment and Bignall has also played on the left.

Except that only Robson-Kanu plays better than the rest. Kebe? I'm not so sure...... :? Henry has not have a league start for our team yet and Bignall has only started one, it may take time for him to adapt.A reliable back up winger would be great IMO.

Royal_Delight Henry has not have a league start for our team yet

Yes he has. He has started 4 league matches in his Reading career and the last of those was earlier this season away at Swansea.

I like the acquisition of Thorvaldsson, Griffin and the Khizvanishvillimanilli. Hopefully Thor will get a good run and prove to be a good signing. He could be termed as a typical Coppell signing as being someone with something to prove. I have no complaints about Griffin and in the performances I have seen thus far has slotted in nicely and ha improved the team. But with funds tight and the "lure" of playing at the wrong end of the CCC makes it harder to attract the best players that we can afford. The key now for the coaching staff is to get the best performances possible out of a frankly mediocre bunch.

EDIT: We now have 5 strikers with a total to date of 11 league goals between them. What a sorry statistic. Therein lies the problem.

You mean apart from the 4 league starts he already has?

Bignall hasn't started any. Unless you are talking about cup, in which case he's started 2 and Henry has started 5

Either way you are totally wrong on both of them

Apologies, I meant the substitution last week for Bignall. As for Henry WR says that he started at Swansea so I guess that must be true. Still think we need someone to back up Sig or McAnuff though.
