Player of the Season 2009/10

by Terminal Boardom » 11 Feb 2010 09:34

As I have seen it this season, up until Christmas, there were two clear, stand out candidates in the Sig and McAnuff.

However, the loan signing of Andy Griffin is looking like an excellent piece of business. Considering that last loan player to win POTS for us was Steve Death a long time back, what chance does Griffin have? IMHO, he is certainly playing himself into contention.

Agreed, but Siggy must be leading with a few months for things to change.

Well seeing as POTS seems to only be based on form after Feb, i wouldnt be suprised.

Remember the season when Harper couldnt pass water until this time of year, whilst Forster carried the whole team? And who was it who won POTS?

Personally I think Feds is playing himself into contention. Early in the season I wanted him dropped but now he is looking like a great replacement for Hahneman. He has certainly won usa few points in recent weeks.

it happened on several occasions, how the Harper ever won POTS is beyond me.

I refuse to submit a vote, because at the end of the day its based on who the kids love best.

I have refused to vote since 1994 when Jimmy Quinn's 40 (Forty) goals were deemed insufficent to win POTS. Although i almost voted for Elroy Kromheer in 1999.

Just goes to show, even back then our support had its fair share of fcking Spastics.

Federici for me as it stands, with Sig, Bertrand and Jobi close behind. Griffin hasn't played enough to warrant being in contention yet. My mind will change if McAnuff picks his form back up and/or Sig continues to develop when he gets fit.

You see, another excellent example.

The guy has had a few good games on the back of season littered with errors. There were calls for him to be dropped for Hamer a few weeks back!

My only input in direct relation to this thread is:

Thus far, there is only 1 player that needs to be mentioned, Sigurdsson.

I can't believe anyone is even considering him to be honest. He's had a couple of decent games recently, and credit where it's due he's played his part in this run of 3 wins on the spin, but player of the season? You're having a laugh!

So far, for me it, it comes down to Sigurdsson, McAnuff or Bertrand, in that order. Plenty left to go of course so it could all change, but I can't really see it coming from outside of those 3 right now as the rest of the squad have had a pretty poor half a season and so have a lot of catching up to do.

kebe for me, has come on leaps and bounds this season, MOTM performances pretty much every time he gets on the pitch and masterful @ taking corners - a big problem for us over the last coupla seasons

Yes, I would have agreed with you. But you don't think Dylan Kerr did well enough to deserve it?

Littered with errors? Hardly. He's made two or three howlers but that is it.

So what about Bertrand? He has probably cost us more goals than Federici. He's decent enough going forward but the amount of times he gets caught out at the back post from a deep cross is unbelievable, and then there was the post incident.

Not by me - I've been to most of our games this season and my opinion is based on what I've seen. If that makes me a f£cking spastic, then so be it.
