Still a few months to go but my current top 3 would be Sig 1st, McAnuff 2nd and Bertrand slightly ahead of Karacan in 3rd. Pre-Christmas Fed's was looking a liabilty and conceded a few soft goals so I don't see him as a genuine POS candidate.

Oh, and I was one of the retards who voted for Dylan Kerr over Jimmy Quinn and I stand by my decision. They were both class mind you.

Wycombe Royal Littered with errors? Hardly. He's made two or three howlers but that is it.

So what about Bertrand? He has probably cost us more goals than Federici. He's decent enough going forward but the amount of times he gets caught out at the back post from a deep cross is unbelievable, and then there was the post incident.

I think littered with errors maybe a little harsh, but it's not far off. He's looked a bundle of nerves at times this season and has been all over the place at times.

He makes some good camera saves but is still prone to making rash decisions and being caught out of position too often. You can't expect him to be perfect of course, and I don't expect him to be up to the high standards set by Hahnemann, but I do think he's been a bit shaky for a lot of the season.

Bertrand hasn't been perfect defensively either, and I think his holding of the line is his biggest problem, but he's in the team to do more than just that and he's done the rest with a lot of quality. A modern fullback like him just isn't as good defensively as a more traditional fullback so I think you have to bear in mind the change in role, and I think he's been consistently good this season which unfortunately is good enough to get him into the top 3 at the moment, much like Armstrong winning it last season without really being anything other than average for 90% of the season.

I agree on Long. If he can score the goals to keep us on a nice run of form, which I'll be surprised at to be honest, and that pulls us clear of relegation then he'd be in with a decent shout, and rightly so despite his awful start to the season.

If Shane Long scores another 10 goals then I predict three things :

1. We'll stay up
2. He'll be POTS
3. I'll be voting for him

At the moment: Shane Long.
A month or so ago: Sigurdsson/McAnuff.
Start of the season: Nobody.

So, come the end of the season it will be interesting to see how the 3 above perform.
Recently, McAnuff has had 2 marking him and so has been almost ineffectual, whilst Sigurdsson has been injured. Long has scored 4 in 3...

It'll be interesting to see who steps up.

A few weeks ago I'd have had the main contenders in descending order as

Sigurdsson, McAnuff, Karacan, Bertrand

Now I'd have it more as

Sigurdsson, McAnuff, Griffin, Bertrand

I don't think Fed was ever that bad and IMO only mongs were calling for him to be dropped for Hamer.

Focher
Tony Le Mesmer Well seeing as POTS seems to only be based on form after Feb, i wouldnt be suprised.

Remember the season when Harper couldnt pass water until this time of year, whilst Forster carried the whole team? And who was it who won POTS?

it happened on several occasions, how the Harper ever won POTS is beyond me.

I refuse to submit a vote, because at the end of the day its based on who the kids love best.

I think Forster deserved it that season. However, Harper was also awesome that season, it was possibly the best season of his career. Anybody who says otherwise deserves a slap.

May want to put Federici in there if he continues to make crazy saves like the last few games.

Only mongs would decide to do the voting in February!

I don't see anyone deciding to do the voting now..........it is merely a topic talking about who COULD get it.......

I am not going to decide until after the FA Cup and Play off Finals at Wembley.

Cummings could still be in contention if Griffin breaks a leg and he puts in a spell of top performances.

Personally I'd say that if he keeps up his current level of performance, then as someone who has come in and been consistently excellent and arguably played a very significant part in our resurgence (should it continue) would be an excellent candidate.

Afterall, it's February, so it's only a discussion on who might be up for it at the end of the season. :P

So could Kevin Phillips if we sign him on an emergency loan and he plays really well scoring lots.

Assuming we're allowed to. Weren't Ipswich refused permission to bring in an emergency keeper in December, on the grounds that they already had two fit keepers on their books? I believe we have no less than seven fit strikers on our books already.
