I've been to North Wales twice in the last 18 months, stayed between Porthmadog and Pwllheli. Snowdonia's brilliant, full of history of the Welsh princes and beyond. The castle's are worth a visit, particularly Conwy, Harlech, and Caernarfon, and there's plenty of smaller ones around like Criccieth and Dolwyddelan with more history to them. If you like your outdoor adventures, try climbing Tryfan. For an easier mountain, do Snowdon from the Llanberis Pass up the Pyg track. Nice and easy until the last 300-400 feet or so. Plenty of beaches around on the Cambrian Coast, places like Chester are only a short drive or train ride away. and you have Welsh Premier League football at Porthmadog or The New Saints (who play in Llansantfraid, just south of Llandudno Junction).
In answer to your question, I don't live there though.
